There are 10 seats. They will fill up. Then, I will proceed to :ff random and the 6/10 ff'ed will play the game.
With this way, it rewards people looking out for game threads by getting a 60% chance to play, and it rewards those that don't always get to play with 10 seats rather than 6.
Of course, if everyone agrees with this 10-seat rule, then I will ask if we'd rather have 2 seats that GUARANTEE you play, and then 4/8 will play with them, or a 6/10 chance for everyone.
If you are not fond of the rule, please by respectful and tell me why. |

i like this, but you should have a better chance of getting on a seat if you haven't made it on before, rather than people who get it every time who will then get a worse chance |

You guys complain about the same people playing over and over again right? How the current system favors faster computers and campers?
The 10-seat rule doesn't totally favor the campers, and doesn't guarantee them a spot. 10 seats is also enough for people just lurking on the SF.
And please go into further detail on how they would get "screwed" by the randomizer. A 60% chance of getting through is pretty good, and better than say, a 40% chance if I had more than 10 seats. It's also better than a 0% chance of never playing because you can never get a seat...Such as someone like yourself. |

your idea of FFing random people, but a limit on how many games someone may play in a row, no person may play 3 games in a row, 2 games is fine, but must sit the next game IF they show up, if a game is played and they don't show, then they can play the next game. |

I want to give the people who actually wait and care for games an advantage though, hence the seats. Waiting for people and :ff random would give everyone a roughly 40% chance of playing, even the people who were waiting for the game for a while, compared to those who are just looking to play a "ro-hockey scrimmage".

noted. But remember that this league isn't always about "equal playing time" anymore, it's about competing for spots and trying to make the final (which really isn't THAT hard). This new idea is opening the doors for more playing time for others though, so I'm glad you're on par with it. |
