That link didn't work. Buuut, I'm pretty sure that game size =/= power of platform. Also if you make a game 290gb large, you should prolly get drug out and shot for not optimizing your game to fit a normal hard drive with room for other games. Seriously. And my version of a normal hard drive is 500gb. Consoles have em, budget PCs run em, etc. Even my 1TB main drive would not see this thing because I wouldn't want it on there. That would be going on my 2TB tertiary drive.

I didn't really get why they correlated game size with platform power either. I think currently 290 GB is pretty excessive, but in a few years I'm sure more games will make full use of the 16 layer 400 GB Blu-ray discs that the PS4 is capable of reading. Like probably on the tail end of this generation.

@Shov The problem with those blu-rays is read speed. You can cram as much info in as you want... But you still have to read that data too. Honestly, it would be better for them to continue putting data on the HDD or SSD. Especially with SSDs becoming cheaper and larger, it will make more and more sense to move towards internal storage.

It doesn't make sense to switch to Blu-Ray because the discs will cost more, and probably the games as well. It also doesn't make sense to switch to SSD yet because they're so freaking expensive.

@Shotson tell that to OCZ and their 1k+ SSDs

downloading 290 GB worth of data would take a year with my internet.

"ps 4-is-so-powerful-that- killzone-shadow- fall-was-or iginally- 290gb" SHADOW FALL IS LARGE SO THE PS4 MUST BE POWERFUL!!!!

The PS4, Wii U and Xbox One are all incredibly under-powered.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Streaming data solely from disc is pretty slow, so a HDD/disc streaming hybrid solution would be optimal. @Nick Rogerz Well, maybe on paper the three are underpowered, but many of the exclusives for the Xbox One and Playstation 4 are very good looking. Specifically Infamous Second Son and KZ SF. Games like those are easily on par with any high-end PC game I've seen.
