Welcome to the official guide and rulebook of the Youth Basketball League. Please read this closely and carefully before participating in any sort of event. It is important that you know these things before making any mistakes.
This guide takes affect at the start of the YBL S1.

♢Terminology♢
Those of you who are new to RO-basketball, here are some terminology that may be useful when you play a game.
Out of bounds = OOB
Inbound = IB
Backcourt Violation = BC
Goal-tend = GT
Pressure, or trying to steal the ball in their opponents half = PRESS
Technical Foul = TECH
Fast Break = FB
Travel = TRAV
Halftime = HT
Good game = GG

Q: May I please become a BoD?
A: This job is no joke, you must be active and read all league rules. You can apply by messaging a paragraph essay to the Commissioner.

A: Never, the YBL group will be passed down as a tradition to dependable and responsible people.

A: Do not ask me, I'm not the team owner, unless you're talking about MY team only. If you really want to tryout, message the team owner.

♢In-Game Rules♢
- All games must be 2v2/3v3.
- All YBL games consist of four quarters with 10 minutes in each quarter.
- Each team will be limited to 10 seconds to cross the half-court line.
- Each team will be limited to 8 seconds during inbound.
- Each team may pressure the players for at least 3 seconds inside their own half.
- Inbound pressure is only allowed if the ball went out of bounds.
- A team may full-court pressure and inbound pressure will be allowed only at the last two minutes of the game if they are losing.
- Self-Inbounds are allowed at all times.
- A team may fast-break 3 if their team is losing by 15+, however, if the losing team is losing by 14 or below and they do a fast-break 3, the score will not count and it will be an automatic turnover.
- A corner three on a fast-break is not a fast-break 3.
- Teams may fast-break 3 if the clock is running down in the quarter or game.
- If the ball goes on top of the backboard, the ball has five seconds to roll off, or else it is out of bounds (Clock still runs during the count).
- In order to perform a dunk, you must release the ball, you cannot just simply do a "Noob Dunk" (Dunking without clicking). If this happens, it will be a travel.
- A foul will NOT be charged against a player if the player "flings" out of bounds or any other motion (ROBLOX physics).
- Redo plays will be called on any "Wall" plays.
- Technicals will be shot(s), possession.
- If a player gets two technical fouls, they will get ejected.
- A player has two warnings when they press. The next press is a technical. If the player already has the technical, then they have one warning.
- If a team has 3 team fouls, the opposing team will be in the bonus.
- Players benched must be sitting down or else they will get a warning, next time is a technical. Only coaches may stand around in their team's zone.
- If any player or coach swears at/argues with the referee or any other person, they will get a technical.
- If any player or coach throws the ball somewhere else to make the opposing team mad or "fetch" the ball, they will get a technical (Also called "Slapping"). The reason I add this rule is because the league wants to play with sportsmanship and respect.
- No "slapping" the ball, when stolen/blocked. It will cause a technical.
- Two technicals is a suspension from the game.
- All players must be wearing their team jersey (correct Away/Home jersey) or else they cannot play. (Tee Shirt Cannons will be available)

♢Group Wall Rules♢
- Advertising is allowed if you have asked me permission to do so.
- Anyone that starts arguments that goes on to 3 pages will be suspended for the rest of the day without posing on the wall.
- Anyone who threatens to hack or makes the person feel uncomfortable (cyber-bullying) will get a warning. If it happens again, it is a suspension, or worse, expulsion.

♢Team Owner Expectations♢
- Team owners are responsible for all trades, waivers (releasing), and signings.
- Team owner MUST post on the wall of their trade/waive/sign (ex. The New York Knicks offer DrJonaXl/ipad1235 to sign with the team.) We will rank the players to the correct rank.
- Signings/Trades must be agreed by both sides.
- If a team forfeits twice, the team owner will be automatically fired (Warning will be sent on the first forfeit).
- Team owners must keep their players satisfied and make sure they get enough practice.
- If a player is or thinks he/she is abused on his team, we will discuss in regularly staff meetings wether the player should be released or not.

♢BoD Expectations♢
- BoD must read and understand all guidelines/rules.
- BoD should referee as much as possible.
- BoD must attend staff meetings (Occurs every other week). If they cannot, they have to message me before hand and why they cannot make it.
During games:
- All games are to be played at the YBL arena.
- Refs must manage the clock wisely, if the play is dead, they must stop the clock. If a team scores, the clock is still running.
- Refs must give warnings and then technicals/ejections once there is flaming/slapping.
- Refs must give breaks between quarters (2 minutes) and halves (5 minutes).
- If a player has to leave or is ejected to the extent that the team has to lose a player on the court, the game still continues.
- After each game, they must record score and record it on the group shout.
- Staff is not allowed to lock the server, BUT, if it gets laggy, Staff may kick spectators.
