@George: The librarian goes to the eastern wing of the library, and then heads up the staircase to the third floor. He climbs a ladder to help him get up the bookshelf, and he grabs a leather-bound book. The book has writing on the spine in a language you are unfamiliar with.

Name: Caldir Dúlindir
Age: Twenty-four
Gender: Male
Race: Half-elf
Appearance: Caldir is simply average, if not a bit tall, for his half-elf race. His eyes are deep pools of blue, while he has rather messy blonde hair, which nearly covers his pointed ears and nearly goes below his collar - but he keeps it just above. He doesn't have any facial hair, as apparently he is not too fond of having a beard. His back has two scars, straight down from just under the shoulder to just below the arm.
Clothing: Caldir wears simple black pants, with a near-matching but more brown-ish shirt and a simple black cloak over that, with a few white lines going down similar to a trimming, connected to himself by a white knot.
Languages: Fluent in Ghoril and Alris but has some knowledge of Rathis and Davek, although only enough for basic sentences - if that.
Occupation: Apprentice of the Arcane Order.
Master: Elanordir Tenarth, an Elf who is constantly researching new spells and types of magic - and Caldir often gets dragged along with him on his escapades. Elanordir works on many kinds of magic, including dabbling into rather more dark magic than most would go, but is careful with its use - however, he also gave Caldir a basic training in weapon use, as he always believed it was best to have a backup in case your magic doesn't work. Caldir has gained a similar joy, if much smaller, of finding about new magic and spells.
Bio: Caldir had a rather simple life - he was the son of a soldier and a normal elf, and as such lived a normal elven life, his father choosing to get away from the various wars and battles to live peacefully. He learnt a bit about swordplay and various tidbits about the workings of various devices with his father, and about history and... well, normal stuff with his mother. However, he always had a fascination with magic, and asked his parents to allow him to join the Arcane Order. After a bit of persuasion, they let him join. While he has had a generally positive experience in the order, working with both a wonder in trying out magic and with Elanordir as your master, trying to make your own magic spell doesn't always work - leaving him with the two long scars on his back where a rather severe spell backfired, holding him back half a year before he could safely stand again. Now, he works harder and a bit more carefully to become a great magician.

(Super, I will have to ask for just one slight change, and there's a really good reason for the change. The change is, can you adjust it so that the master searches for new uses for Arcane magic rather than just new magic types in general? I can't reveal much more without giving you a spoiler.)
@George: The seal on the envelope is that of the Keeper of Secrets. Perhaps this is about the test?
