I recently upgraded my computer, and on reinstalling Roblox, Studio will not open and brings up an error message:
C:\Users\----\AppData\Local\Roblox\Versions\version-887681bf8c934aec\QtGui4.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact you system administrator or the software vendor for support.
I fixed the problem by navigating directly to the Roblox Appdata file and clicking on the exe. For some reason the shortcut wasn't linked to the actual exe file or something?
Anyway I fixed it, but I thought that it should be brought to someone's attention. |

The error says it all. It's saying that the file isn't possible to run for Windows. Did you download ROBLOX from roblox.com? |

Downloading from the inernet has never been 100% reliable. Always expect errors. :) |

Yes, I downloaded from Roblox, and yes, I am aware that downloads can have clientside issues. I was posting mainly to make sure that this wasn't a source issue. |

i really need to know how do you go to the app data file? |

Type in this into bar of File Explorer to get to the AppData folder.: %appdata% If you have the newest version of Windows, Then you can type it in in the task bar located at the bottom of the screen. |

last time i went to properties and then i ran the colors it had, and all other options it had,it worked but when the error message came back i used the same method but it didn't work. |

ok i followed what you said and went to the app data file but i don't see e x e anywhere all i see is the desktop files, i mean really i am posting alot of comments but an idea for my game just blew in my mind and now i really want to use that idea so, me having to worry about roblox bad image and version problems i can never use my idea.HELP PLEASE I HATE IT IT IS STUPID AND CUZ OF THAT MONKEY UPGRADE IT CAUSES THAT ALL THE TIME!!! |

look it did it again now look another dll file and a diffrent version does not work see every time it upgrades it messes up |

Also, if you delete ALL of the roblox stuff launched etc and re install it. it works |

what do you mean what website did you go on to was it the regular roblox page or onto roblox appdata and where is the exe really struggling |

It does not work I shredded the roblox launcher and I deleted it and deleted it from the recycle bin and downloaded the things but roblox studio did not download. Do I delete the program again and then reinstall it again? If it is not that what do I do? |
