Super TL:DR Version: Price Floor 2.0 without any of the original's flaws.
TL:DR Version: Price Floor 2.0, without any of the flaws of the original, I.E actual BC incentive, premium-quality clothing for an actual reason, which will lead to more sales for the advertised audience range, I.E BC.
So there is a revolution in S&I regarding Price Floor. One side loves it, the other side hates it. And some people don't take a side. But, this idea may or may not mend wounds between both sides and maybe the neutral party. So, I will introduce a new version of Price Floor in the form of BC-Only clothing.
How does it work? I will explain. First, Price Floor 1.0 (AKA, the version that's causing a stir in S&I at the time of this writing.) will have to kick the bucket in favor of this idea, as it will cause a similar effect but for a justified reason. My reasoning? 100 Tickets was meant for BC as the primary customer, not NBC.
When you alter a cloth, you gain several options. You regain the ability to price for 1-Infinity Tickets, and you gain the ability to sell for specific BC Types. But when you do set it to a specific BC type only, Price Floor comes back anyway. BC will pay 100 Tickets at minimum for BC-Only clothing, TBC will pay 300 Tickets at minimum for TBC-Only clothing, and OBC will pay 600 Tickets at minimum for OBC-Only Clothing. Or, you can ditch a BC-Type in favor of selling to everyone, but there are side-effects to this, of course. If you lose a BC-Type while having that article of clothing in your inventory, you can still wear it, as you bought and earned it.
The paragraph above was the actual idea. But here come the idea effects.
1. There is an actual incentive to buy BC. To buy premium-quality clothing. An actual buff to BC.
2. You want to make the risk by selling to higher-quality customers? Raise your clothing's BC-type.
3. When you nail your target audience down, you get more sales because you know who to sell to instead of mass confusion and chaos.
I'd figure this thread would need a Q&A. Add questions if you like.
Q: But wouldn't someone sell for all four BC-Types with minor modifications?
A: Then let them. They want the most recognition and profit, yes? They are willing to make the risk. If the clothing is not appealing to the customer, they won't buy it.
Q: I've seen you protest Price Floor before. Why are you suggesting this?
A: Price Floor 1.0 had BC nerfed. This idea would encourage actual incentive to buy BC, giving ROBLOX money. Like I said prior-hand in Malvus' thread, I love ROBLOX and want them to live, it's just that Price Floor 1.0 wasn't the way to do it.
Q: You're an NBC suggesting for a BC-Only feature!
A: Ex-BC. Also, I suggested BC-Only features in the past. Please do not use stereotypes.
Q: ROBLOX said Price Floor is staying. Deal with it.
A: If they really want it to stay, then I am suggesting this because I dealt with it. This idea would actually give ROBLOX money, by the way, probably even more money than Price Floor 1.0 thanks to the BC insignia. I'd like to call this idea as more of a "Price Floor 2.0", as previously mentioned in the TL:DR Versions. It's staying, but it's being upgraded to actually encourage paying customers and undo past mistakes.
I figured this would be enough questions for now. Anyway...
This is the end of the idea. If you like it, leave a Support in the comments below. If you don't like it, please give a constructive reason as to why you don't like it. If you flame, it's free bumps for me. |

Normally, looking at the title, I would immediately shoot down this idea as "BC has enough already", but this is an ingenious way of pleasing everyone. Well done.
Full 100% support. |

@lottery248
You can buy clothing for 1 Ticket after this idea is implemented. No more victimizing for you. |

nobody would buy BC clothing |

@2spooky4meh
I've considered the profit that ROBLOX wants clothing makers to have. You'd be surprised. |

@lottery248
Is it strange to say that it will both leave, and stay? |
|

If clothes for 1 tix exist, everyone would buy those instead of BC-OBC only clothes |

@2spooky4meh
1. You wouldn't get as much profit without catering to the higher audience types.
2. I was thinking maybe there can be a quality setting in the moderation process? ROBLOX will recommend you sell an article at a certain price. Akin to pigeonholing, but not mandatory.
3. Clothing sold for 1 Ticket would probably be lackluster in quality. I'd be more impressed by the guy who bought the BC-Only clothing. |

No support. Scenario:
Person A sees a shirt that's 5 tix, and complete crap, and a shirt that's OBC only and 600 tix, and amazing. Person A is an NBC. Person A has heard of clothes copying, and since he needs to pay at least $20 /and/ 600 tix, he googles how to copy clothes. He then finds out how easy it is, and copies every half-decent shirt he sees.
Yes, it's possible for NBCs to copy clothes. No, I'm not telling you.

@trogyssy
That's a point against Price Floor 1.0 as well.
Maybe there can be copy protection during the moderation process? |

@XxNightDreamerxX
That's essentially judging a book by its cover. |

Here's my logic in this situation:
Suppose I'm a great clothing designer. I make something and decide to sell it for BC only at 100 tix. I see it is getting a fare amount of sales, and I realize that there are NBCers who would by this item as well. So, I switch it so that everyone can buy it. Some NBCers are buying it despite the price, and all of a sudden, I'm making more money than if I was selling it just for BC.
Also, I have a feeling that most OBCers wouldn't spend 600 tix for a clothing item, even if only they can get it. Why would anyone think a clothing item is worth 600 tix in any situation?

I'm sorry, I can't support this. Thanks for a idea. |

"Maybe there can be copy protection during the moderation process?"
Suggested before, it's not possible though.
And copying is much less of a problem with a 100 tix item than with a 600 tix item.

1. Maybe not now. But later?
2. It still is a problem. |
|

No support, shirts are for everyone. NBC'ers had enough of BC only stuff. |

@MrPhelps
1. Or you can sell to both?
2. The rates were calculated with the daily bonus in mind. |

@ihatecreeper600
In this idea, one greed update is replaced by another. Affordable clothing will come back after this. |

Explain? |

MrPhelpsJoin Date: 2010-02-27 Post Count: 27982 |
Yeah, I could sell both, but what's the point of have a BC version and an NBC version?
