As you arrive, there's a counter at your right and a door out into the lobby in front of you. A woman speaks up. "Oh -- are you about to leave?"

"Sorry, it's not." She looks back, calling to one of the people working behind the desk. "Could you get the files for, uh..." She snaps her fingers before looking at you. "What's your name?"

She turns around. "Adam Callahan." She parroted. A few moments, a folder is brought to her and she sifts through it. "Alright, just gonna need your info, like address, phone number, the usual. Cost'll be five-hundred dollars."

She nods to you with a smile. "Thank you! Hopefully, you don't get yourself in any other tussles. Have a nice day." You walk off and out of the building. Conveniently, your car is there. How did your car there and, more importantly, who got your car there? You didn't care, it was out and you were able to get in it. You patted your pockets to see if your keys were in your pocket, and luck be a lady tonight, your keys were in your left front pocket. Taking out the jingling keys, you walk up to the car and unlock it, getting in it and starting up the thing. You can return home at least. Or, you could go somewhere else.

I know you're out there, Smough.

(go away morgan freeman)
You arrive at the apartment. Walking in, everything seems in order. Look through the video log?

The video was quite interesting. The footage was something very still and stable watching something. This was right outside your apartment. In fact, the camera had shot towards a figure -- was that you? The trench coat was there and everything. You never went anywhere without a trench coat. Was this a camhead?

"I closed the video. I was being watched. I made my way to the television and turned it on."

The TV was switched on.
The report you have tuned in on, conveniently, was the attack that occurred a few months ago at the trainstation.
"A few weeks ago, there was an attack on the metro near the leveled block around the R-11 district. The death toll was high, with an amount going up to a hundred and fifty victims. Reports say that many of them were brutally cut and bisected, some even unrecognizable. An official statement from the Tsen Security Force saying 'We believe this may be the doing of the Respite of Tsen, a domestic terrorist group. The leveling of the block and the bold attack on a civilian metro station were close to each other, and considering the casualty counts, this fits the criteria of them.' Only a few survived the attack, and only two were released from the hospital recently. We have not been given any statements from the survivors, however investigations are ongoing."
Almost on cue, the door was being knocked on.

And almost like a swarm of bees came right into you, some beltway pansy news journalist barrages you with questions.
"Hello -- I work for the local news station and heard you were one of the survivors. Do you have any idea who attacked? How many people were there? When did you get there? Do you know of any more survivors besides yourself? How many died?"
Annoying.

The reporter, disgruntled -- what did he expect? -- left. Now it was just you and your apartment. Reporters would always be a massive pain and a nuisance. If there were other survivors, though, that had to mean something.
