@silencer: Exactly. In one out of every game, someone is wearing the Backwards 'R' Cap. We've never seen it before because we haven't gone in a game with them... Just because we've never seen them, the decal on top of the hat gets stored on our computer for "FASTER LOADING".

No, not "exactly", regardless of how many hats people buy it won't change. It only loads into RAM the meshes (not just hats) that are needed for that place. One gig of space in the folder is not loaded into RAM, only about 50 megs tops. The ROBLOX app itself takes more than that. Plus it would be loaded into your RAM regardless of whether or not it's on your hard drive. The only difference between having it on your hard drive or not is whether or not it downloads it EVERY TIME YOU LOAD ROBLOX. Putting more strain on ROBLOX's servers and connection, costing more money to pay for the extra bandwidth, leading to yet more fail updates in a desperate attempt for money. I think less than 1GB off my hard drive is well worth the minimal amount of space lost.

@enyahs7: You don't have to have it on your computer, it can load everytime you go in-game, but the developers, as RobloTim said, put them in your computer for *FASTER LOADING* And it's not a little problem, this folder can get up to more than a GB.

Guys, don't worry... Besides, your uploading those meshes to your computer... You know when you go to a place and need to go in solo to see the mesh... Thats when you upload it there...

Stop failing people and start reading. Your computer CAN NOT CRASH from too many files. CAN NOT! You hear that. CAN'T!! I could put 400GB text file on my computer and it wouldn't crash or slow down. I'd run out of hard drive sapce real fast, but it WOULD NOT CRASH OR FILL MY RAM (until I tried to load it, then it would fill my RAM)!!!!

Then that's your fault for having a really bad computer, or simply being incompetent.

Guys, even with the hatsplosions, this is nowhere even CLOSE to what a game like Counterstrike or World of Warcraft takes up.

NO it isn't. A REAL game takes between 4 and 16 GIGABYTES of space. This folder you refer to is barely 1GB.

All of the OLD hat meshes were stored in the program until they figured out how to just upload them to the site... That's why they didn't make many hats before. They would need to update the entire ROBLOX program just to make one hat! And BTW, all of the skyboxes and sounds have ALWAYS been there.

All of the meshes are stored on the WEBSITE. Not our computer, the meshes get DOWNLOADED when we enter the game.

Some awesome video games don't use as much memory as ROBLOX. You know why? ROBLOX uses a PHYSICS ENGINE.
