After a short moment of thought, I speak up.
"I'm here of my own accord, looking to join a group called The Initiates, which we both know you have information about. My complex system of spies and informants told me about this place," I lie, looking around the room at the people. |

"I knew it, Kevin! This guy wants to be one of those damned dogs! We should off him right here so we don't have to deal with him! Carter's wife and his children were killed by those fiends in the last raid. I say we kill him now so we don't have to deal with him when he's a part of The Initiates!" Norman says from across the room.
Kevin shakes his head, while two other men exchange awkward glances.
Kevin walks over and slams his fist on the table, to get the others' attention. "Now it this really true? You're looking for The Initiates? Why?!" Kevin asks you, walking back across the room with the others. |

"You people aren't them?" I ask. |

"Hell no!" Norman says from across the room. "We're just trying to survive. No thanks to the NWR. They practically abandoned us, and they've stopped sending us supplies, so we cut off communication entirely with them," Norman rolls his eyes.
"Are we going to kill him, or what?" one of the men says from across the room.
"We will soon, Carter. Let's just see if we can get anymore information out of him," Kevin replies to Carter. |

"So the Initiates are not in this general area?" I ask, darting my eyes around the room, trying to see how well-armed these people are. |

"We've no clue where they are. They disappear as soon as they show," Kevin said.
"Kevin, enough chat, we're gonna have to kill this man. Not here, though. We'll have to do it outside," Norman reminds Kevin.
"Hell no, he'll get close to your families!" Carter reminds them.
They're all armed pretty well. Carter has a bolt-action rifle, Kevin has a semi-automatic rifle, Norman's got a shotgun by the looks of it, and the other man has a pistol.
They're all standing across the room, so trying to stab them would be futile. |

I look around the building, trying to place what material this place is made out of. |

Mostly scrap metal that actually seems pretty sturdy. You might just be talking your way out of this one, or you could possibly make it the stairs which are about ten feet away with a bit of luck. |

No need for a significant fire. Just a bit of smoke will do. I remove a match from my matchbook and crook my head, examining the match. I light the match on the table in front of me and hold it up to the air.
"Kill me here, harm me, or take a step towards me and this match drops, endangering innocent children and their parents," I say, watching the flame dance around on my match. |

Norman watches as you pull out the matches and he stops you before you can do anything. He raises his shotgun.
"Hey, what the Hell do you think you're doing?!" |

"Stabbing and taking a guy hostage, it seems," I say as I quickly move my hand on my lap to my Reactor and lurching forward, stabbing Norman and attempting to grab him as a meatshield. |

(Oh shoot, the chart messed up. Norman was supposed to be further away, but since it messed up, I'll give you this one.)
You slide your chair out from under you and dart forward, grabbing Norman and holding a knife to his neck.
Kevin immediately lowers his weapon. "What do you want, you freaking scum! Don't take his damn life!" |

"I just wanted to walk out that door and hunt down the Initiates, but then you started spewing out death threats and now we're at an impasse." |

"Hunt them down? Then why'd you say you were looking to join them?" Kevin questioned. He signaled for the other men to lower their weapons. |

"Thought you people were the Initiates. If that was the case, it would've been a bad idea to say that I'm hunting them down." |

Kevin and Carter exchanged a quick word.
"Alright, that makes sense," Carter replied.
"But what about getting here? Who gave our location away?" Kevin asked. |

"System of spies and informants," I lie, letting go of my meatshield and kicking it away, deciding I won't need it anymore. |

Kevin goes forward to catch Norman. Norman turns around and casts you an awkward glance, but he doesn't say anything once he retrieves his weapon.
"Who's your informant, then? Was it someone from the NWR?" Kevin asks, obviously leading the questions. |

"Why do you assume it's someone from the NWR?" I ask, sheathing my blade and sitting back down. |

Carter paced around. "Well you see, I think that, since we cut off communications with them, they're either wondering if the Initiates have killed us and taken over this building, or they simply wanted to get rid of us. We were originally a colony from the NWR." |
