It costs 7 MILLION dollars a DAY to run a SINGLE aircraft carrier. Now imagine all the hardware, vehicles, equipment, installations, etc that need maintenance every single day, along with the millions of soldiers to feed and house. And this isn't even including the costs of manufacturing ammunition. A single Tomahawk cruise missile costs over 1 million dollars, and the Navy will fire those off during bloody training exercises. PLUS, most of our military is spread throughout the entire world, so transportation of even the most basic supplies can costs thousands. Armies ain't cheap yo.

One day, the U.S. economy won't be able to support the country, and then military spending will lower causing an outdated military. And by then all the other countries's economies like china will still be stable because they don't focus on military spending and the U.S.'s one major advantage of peacekeeping of having the strongest army in the world will be invalid due to their unstable economy due to past military spending like this.
