@above what r u stupid? That's scripting. And guess what, scripting is too laggy for a large game. And it shouldn't just be for players, it should be for parts too. And that's why scripting won't work. Read pages 2-3

Unlocked camera should be added too but enableable by the creator and with extra camera controls. What I mean is that you can rotate the camera 360 O in all directions, you won't be randomly and strictly blocked from trying to rotate the camera 360 O vertically. Did you say you like trains? No, you don't. I like them. Choo Choo! Train -> -ooI ---THINKER OF LBC---

You only need one BodyForce to negate the effects of gravity. Just use a script to find the mass of the model: local model = game.Workspace:FindFirstChild("Model") if model then local children = model:GetChildren() local totalmass = 0 for i = 1, #children do if children[i].ClassName == "Part" then totalmass = totalmass + children[i]:GetMass() elseif children[i].ClassName == "UnionOperation" then totalmass = totalmass + children[i]:GetMass() elseif children[i].ClassName == "NegateOperation" then totalmass = totalmass + children[i]:GetMass() elseif children[i].ClassName == "WedgePart" then totalmass = totalmass + children[i]:GetMass() elseif children[i].ClassName == "CornerWedgePart" then totalmass = totalmass + children[i]:GetMass() elseif children[i].ClassName == "TrussPart" then totalmass = totalmass + children[i]:GetMass() elseif children[i].ClassName == "Seat" then totalmass = totalmass + children[i]:GetMass() elseif children[i].ClassName == "VehicleSeat" then totalmass = totalmass + children[i]:GetMass() end end print(totalmass) end Then multiply "totalmass" by 196.2 (aka the force of gravity on ROBLOX), and there, you have a zero gravity. Only one BodyForce is needed and it works fine with objects that are less than 500 parts. Could work with more, but that's all I've tested it on. Really, what you are asking for is gravity that is located on a certain point instead of just the y-axis, which would in essence change the entire engine of ROBLOX. Now, as a very limited amount of users intend to use this feature, ROBLOX has no interest in adding it (which is why I presume that it hasn't been added in a year). (In reference to everyone saying pages 2/3 have the answers to why this should be a feature): "As i said in my post, yes this is certainly possible and i HAVE the ability to do it, so laziness is not the reason of this post." Then why not just do it? You're voiding your entire argument if you know its possible, then JUST DO IT. ROBLOX isn't here to spoon feed you. "7 500 parts constantly moving in all sort of directions with changing accelerations." That's ironic, you claim this causes lag yet my game has the same concept and rarely has lag. It only lags if all 7 are next to each other, yet the lag is barely noticeable. You could just have poor performing scripts. "filling ALL of them with BodyForces." 7 BodyForces won't lag your game if you already have 7 BodyVelocity/Gyro's in your spaceship. Plus, I don't see why you need gravity if BodyVelocity/Gyro already counter it. "I also want you to realize how SIMPLE this is for ROBLOX" They have to change their core engine to work gravity from one axis to all three, when most games are built on a flat world. So what's the point in all that hard work then, especially if most users who develop won't use it? I just don't see the point in adding this. inLua has already demonstrated that it is possible with no lag (because guess what, that 50k parts are centered in a small area which causes lag, which no one experienced). I won't reply to any criticisms to this post, simply because if ROBLOX hasn't implemented it after a year of waiting, then this idea isn't near the top of their interests, or on it all.

@2 above no. it is not that hard to make gravity that pulls in three directions instead of one. The engine does not have to be touched at all. Gravity is literally just a force, and the engine already has multi-axis forces. You just have to add a way for it to be radial which is really not hard. And your idea for the model-based body forces won't work for multiple radial gravity fields. because of all of the gravity fields, you would need tens, possibly hundreds, of body forces per model to calculate all of the gravity. And that causes lag when done in lua. And before you go insulting somebody's scripting ability, take a look at the game he's referring to. User made ships for one, the weapons have lag, the locating of linked parts has lag time since it has to search every part until it has found every linked one, when a ship is spawning there is a lot of lag, etc, etc. This would be a much more efficient solution and I have a feeling more people would use it than you care to admit. People don't use it now because it doesn't exist. And honestly sci-fi needs some popularity, i mean it's the only genre with decent games and nobody knows about it.

@Zephyrical "Now, as a very limited amount of users intend to use this feature, ROBLOX has no interest in adding it." - This feature would encourage people to make sci-fi games or other genres i mentioned such as obbies, trust me such games are really fun if you give this a chance. "Then why not just do it? You're voiding your entire argument if you know its possible, then JUST DO IT. ROBLOX isn't here to spoon feed you." - I have done it, and that's why i wrote this. Why i'm not using it? I've stated this many times before. "That's ironic, you claim this causes lag yet my game has the same concept and rarely has lag. It only lags if all 7 are next to each other, yet the lag is barely noticeable. You could just have poor performing scripts. 7 BodyForces won't lag your game if you already have 7 BodyVelocity/Gyro's in your spaceship. Plus, I don't see why you need gravity if BodyVelocity/Gyro already counter it." - Well it depends for how much parts you want this, in your case it's 7, in my case it's more than 10k. "They have to change their core engine to work gravity from one axis to all three, when most games are built on a flat world. So what's the point in all that hard work then, especially if most users who develop won't use it?" - The only thing they will have to change is give us the ability to change the gravity constant. I don't think they they'll have to rework on the 3D space just to reduce the downwards force that is on the y axis. "If ROBLOX hasn't implemented it after a year of waiting, then this idea isn't near the top of their interests, or on it all." - Updates like that may take several years, looks at dynamic lighting for example, this was already suggested in 2010 when the S&I forum section didn't exist and had it's own website. And they are still busy on making the new articulated physics which they announced at least three years or so. Honestly, i don't understand why you are trying to put this idea down. Is there an update you support that is way more worthy than mine in comparison and which would make Roblox a whole better place? Or maybe you don't stand behind a reason and just came here to act smart, now if that's the case then leave this thread thank you.

Suppppppooooorrrrtttt. And Hydra, have you tried e m @ i l i n g a roblox admin / dev? Maybe that would stimulate a faster response? I like how many people respond to this without reading any part of the responses xD (yes, "scriptable-s", I'm talking to you). It would also be cool if you could edit the void in some way (moving it, getting rid of it, or something). I can just imagine if 0G gets put in some game, and some innocent little ship is flying "down" (relative to game coordinates) and then suddenly, "POOF". The ship disappears, because they flew into the void. Or, of course, you could just put everything way up high. . .
