I love this idea. It could be developed more to be more practical and user friendly - to avoid texture glitches and whatnot. As apart of the roblox clothing community, this would bring so much creativity and diversity to character customization.

As others have been saying, the current engine doesn't support multiple image layers. Just go ahead and place a decal on a brick, then place another decal that has transparent holes to look though. Wherever the two decals both are opaque, you will see flickering.
Although I fully support your idea, it just won't work unless the developers adds in support for multiple image layers on bricks.
Transparency would only work the way you describe it if Pants1 is transparent where Pants2 is opaque. This is extremely unlikely, and it would already destroy the concept since you would still require it to be custom-made for your other pants. Assuming this logic, you could just buy both pieces of clothing, then copy them into one piece of clothing and just not sell it, which would make the piracy argument invalid too (Since you still paid for both items, and isn't making money from it)
And last of all, everybody who has been giving no support hasn't actually got a reason. You're simply saying "I don't have any ice-cream, so I don't WANT to give you some". All you're doing is stating the reason this suggestion cannot be done without patching the engine. And to you, OP, please try and talk more civilized. If you get angry at another persons ignorance, you should try and talk to them, and find out if they have any ideas how to make your suggestion better.

Engine needs to be patched in order for it to work.
Just because the engine can't do it now, doesn't mean that it's not doable with a pit of patching, and it's also not a valid reason for why "YOU" don't support an idea.
Be nice and talk civilized unless you want to make a fool out of yourself on a site with millions of potential viewers. |
