I hate it when people say "UMM IS SCRIPTABLE" for this specific question. It's just better to have it DEFAULT. Why do we need to script a whole thing just to let people know they earned a badge? They might end up changing the sound if they do add the feature back, but even if we don't get the little "doo-doo", we might as well at least get a badge notification at all. We could be able to toggle it within the configuration settings, in case someone thinks it'd interrupt their game. But it would be default.

If there was a badge noise, do you remember how many badges are awarded for something basic as a special class in a game? Now tell me that a DA DAA wouldn't alert everyone to the general location and what happened. Also tell me that it won't play multiple instances on touching a badge giver. Sorry, but just make it yourself. I want it back as much as the next 2010'er, but it's going to cause audio bugs and ruin some games.

Although instead of notifying in the chat, it could be a small notification box on the side that appears when you earn the badge.
And the sound? Not too sure, but it can sometimes be a little annoying. |
