The Bible doesn't say the earth is 6,000 years old. The Bible says HUMANITY is 6,000 years old.

Also, get back to the original topic. Find out which specific groups are doing this with ads, then make a forum post about it.

"I am NOT Christian, I happen to believe in God, doesn't mean I have to follow a religion" No, you're Christian Deism, as I already stated. "The Bible doesn't say the earth is 6,000 years old. The Bible says HUMANITY is 6,000 years old." The Bible doesn't say that either. The idea of 6000 years was brought up when you take supposedly take all the Pre-Christian events, and add them with Christian events and then the add up the difference between now and then. Which is wrong, and people seem to forget before Romans were around there were different kinds of calendars. Take this into perspective, Jesus possibly died around in the 30s BC. Which means A) The Julian Calendar was just starting to be of use. B) The Gregorian calender (current system) was never used. C) There could have been shorter/different calendar systems in place before. For example, the original Roman Calendar (pre-Julian) was 10 months long all about 30 days. And then you got the Numa calendar (Again, pre-Julian) which was 12 months, but had more 29 day months. Want to learn Java? Contact me or visit http://www.roblox.com/Groups/group.aspx?gid=632774

"Jesus probably died in the 30 BC" Do you mean AD because Jesus dying before he was born is pretty odd

In the end, they can't defend their religious beliefs if faced by science. At least we can prove to them why their statement is invalid, whereas they only use faith to defend themselves. Fact > Faith

"In the end, they can't defend their religious beliefs if faced by science. At least we can prove to them why their statement is invalid, whereas they only use faith to defend themselves." In the end, no, you cannot scientifically defend religious beliefs. But you cannot throw a god or gods out of the equation. There's still much that scientists cannot explain. Not to mention science hasn't disproved gods or a god. So no, you cannot prove that their "statement" is invalid. Supposedly, Earth in the sun's orbit is moving ~108,000 km/h. This wasn't a product of science, but rather a product of math. Yet, scientists accept the answer and there's no way of physically measuring it and if there is, then magic. "Fact > Faith" You make it seem that faith cannot be fact, or fact cannot be faith. Take gravity, it's a fact that it exists, you have faith that it does, yet science hasn't proved what exactly caused it. Want to learn Java?
