The teams that say no are the teams that are unprepared and are hoping they can use their name as a "SF Team" to attract players instead of going through a draft process to find them. And that is exactly what SHOULDNT happen. Unprepared teams must be punish. Prepared teams must be rewarded. |

Cheesy last time I checked one of the central goals of in any league is "competitive balance". Now after a few years of competing against SF teams for signing, I can say that it is my opinion that they are infact a main obstacle to compelting that goal. SF teams like the Snow Tigers are not good for leagues. Not trading players, and hoarding the majority of the talent is infact the opposite of competitive balance. A competitive league is more fun for everyone involved. No one likes to lose 6-1. And no it isn't very fun to 6-1. The sport is at it's best during close games. And more of that is what this draft strives to do.
If anything, I say make the draft longer, to reward the teams that cared. |
