Rage against the Machine was a wildly popular band from the 90's that was short lived, but still managed to produce Three amazing records during their *about* 10 year span of time together. The reason Rage against the Machine was so different was because of their incorporation of a Heavy Rock band with primarily a Rapper as a lead singer. Their name was actually going to be Zack de la Roacha's (The singer) previous band's next album name, but when he met Tom Morrello, they discussed the title 'Rage against the Machine' and thought it accurately portrayed their music, and their strong distaste towards the modern government in America. A great band with insane live shows that had the audience Moshing, Crowd surfing, and Flicking off the band during particular songs that encouraged such behavior. The band themselves have done such things like hung American Flags upside down on their Amplifiers, Burned an American Flag on stage once at Woodstock of '99, and even played an entire show in Gu@ntanamo Bay Imprisonment uniforms, showing their protest towards the containment center. And their music is also neat because of Tom Morrello's innovative guitar techniques that incorporate the instrument in ways many would've never seen. Together, you get a great mix that sounds awesome. |
