ok, i am going to use this to hash out all of my ideas for the minor leagues of ISL. yeah people, it's happening. i hope to have the whole thing up and running soon so we can do a shortened season and give more people playing time. this will cover the implementation this season as well as the changes and expansion in seasons to come. jim has said he doesn't want to have any involvement in running the minor leagues because he is already running the ISL, so i will need some volunteers to help out. more information below on that.
SEASON 12 OVERVIEW
The minor leagues will consist of 4 teams made up of unsigned free agents. Any free agent can sign up to be put into the minor league system, where they will be eligible to be signed by an ISL team at any point in time. Once free agents are registered for the minor leagues, they will be randomly placed on one of four teams. Each team will be managed (voluntarily with no compensation) by a current or past ISL player. The manager will be in charge of making sure players who arrive at mISL games get adequate playing time, as standings do not really matter much this season. mISL should focus on player development rather than victory every game.
SEASON 12 SCHEDULE
Each team in the mISL will play a 5 game schedule. They will play 2 of the other teams twice and 1 of the other teams only once. The mISL schedule will conclude before the ISL schedule does, as most minor league schedules do.
SEASON 12 STAFF
I am in need of the following people to help make this work:
Referees - To be a referee you will not have to be approved on the official ISL list of referees. If you would like to be a referee please reply to this thread and I will decide if you are trustworthy enough and have enough knowledge of the rules to be a minor league referee. This will be a great stepping stone of you want to become an approved ISL referee.
Team Managers - Your only requirement for being a team manager is having played at least 1 season of ISL. Anyone can volunteer. You will be in charge of organizing the players for games and making sure everyone has adequate playing time. You will not be allowed to play on the mISL team you are managing.
Co-Commissioner/Helping Hands - I need some people to help me out with some stuff. If some current players, team owners, etc. want to step up and help the ISL expand to a broader amount of players and increase the amount of TIX that jimbobucky earns then please volunteer and I will find some way for you to help out.
SEASON 13 IMPLEMENTATION
I have already confirmed with jimbobucky that ISL teams in season 13 will be allowed to have a much deeper franchise system, or in other words, all minor league teams will be affiliates of ISL teams. Pending expansion in S13, there will still be 4 mISL teams, and 2 teams in the ISL will share 1 mISL team. mISL rosters will consist of 7 players from each of their major league affiliates, combining on 1 squad for a total of 14 players, similar to the ISL roster max. Official rules for the affiliate teams have not been determined yet, but as we approach S13 I will work on them and have them distributed to all current and future team owners. Deathrange has agreed to be commissioner in S13, also. I am not sure if he will want co-commissioners to help run things or not, so we'll determine that at a later date. |

while i appreciate all the referees we do need some team managers to step up
if a (H) is indicated next to your name that means you are approved to be a head referee for minor league games and will determine the jobs that the other referees will do for that game, i.e. scoreboard, stat keeping, general refereeing, etc.

as i explained in the S13 paragraph, next season we will be able to send people up and down from minor league teams. jim did not want to have that this season, probably just testing the waters of the minor leagues and then we will improve it going forward. i pushed for the minor leagues to be started for this exact reason. all i can say is tough it out for this season and put in your time at practice to improve your skills so that if and when the time comes we will sub you in. |
