My computer probably has the lowest hardware configuration of any person playing ROBLOX today. The fact that it has the ability to run is a marvel. But I believe that I can eek out more performance than first though, by upgrading my SSD, increasing my page file, etc. In games with any materials, it seems that I get less than 20 FPS. Even in standard baseplates I lag (that lag goes away when I change all of the edges to smooth and material to smooth plastic). I believe this is a problem with my not-so-great GPU/CPU combo, an Intel Atom Z500 (first gen Silverthrone) and 512 MB RAM. I was able to run this place: http://www.roblox.com/test-place?id=127055359 At 60/30 FPS, I didn't have Fraps open, so I don't know which one it was. I noticed in Studio it says that the RAM given to ROBLOX is 96 MBs... I'm starting to think that that may be one of the reasons it disconnects. Is there anyway to improve performance? I'm running Windows XP Performance Edition by the great TJ on a 2GB SSD. Is there a way to increase the RAM allotted to ROBLOX through Studio?

I've got about 240,000+ KB free on startup, which I believe is 240+ MB. I have a performance edition of Opera, so when I get to a game page, I have about 200 MB of RAM free. Windows XP Performance Edition disables a lot of the processes that use of processing power and RAM. I have ROBLOX installed, WinDirStat, Ccleaner, and HotVirtualKeyboard, as my device is the BenQ S6 tablet. All of my other applications are loaded on my SD card.

Well, I have a few computers on my network and they don't have any problems. I don't believe it's a problem with the internet.

I don't think it has a virus lol I believe that it's a hardware limitation.

It has to be a problem with RAM. I just watch ROBLOX eat up my RAM until it went down to 20 MBs... That's scary.

I think I have a diagnosis. The RAM is the thing that gets me disconnected. If I could somehow free up more RAM, I wouldn't experience these connection issues. My CPU/GPU is probably what's dropping the FPS a bit. ROBLOX only works when overclocked, so I don't really know what to do (not get another PC, I already have one, I just like small computers).

I actually played a session of Down Hill Smash! Minimize Opera to minimize it's memory footprint, and there are no disconnection issues! I was looking at task manger, and ROBLOX does use more than 96MB RAM, so that's good. Now I just need to find how to help out the CPU, I'm sure changing where the page file is will help. Once I upgrade my SSD, this thing will be able to run so many ROBLOX games!

Remove any program that claims to speed up computer, it just causes more lag.

Again, I don't have many programs. I've only got ones that I use frequently, like ROBLOX, Ccleaner for disk space, and WinDirStat. The rest of the things are on my MicroSD card.

Alright, try the following suggestions: -Try going to Control Panel>Programs and features and just double check for random stuff and uninstall it. -If you have the money, buy a better RAM. Mine is running on 6 GB RAM and is perfect. -It may be a connection issue. Try resetting the internet and if that does not work, then you should try moving your router and/or modem next to you PC, as it does help the connection. Also do not keep random PCs or phones running while on an internet browser, as that is taking up internet connection. -Try cleaning your hard drive with one of the applications that can be downloaded off of the internet, but make sure it is a reliable and trusted download. - If all else fails, you could always buy a new laptop. I am using a Dell notebook, it was about $750. It has AMD A10 processor, finger print scanner and beats audio.

PM me for further inquiries, as I do not read forums or refresh them over and over.

Okay, that last part with the Beats audio was completely unnecessary. As I said before, I am not upgrading to a different computer, I have a a main PC and this is my backup pocket PC (UMPC).

Also, I can't "buy a better RAM", the correct term would be to "buy more RAM", and I can't do that because it's a miniature tablet, the RAM is soldered onto the motherboard. All I can do is upgrade the SSD, which, as I mentioned, I plan on doing.

Maybe RAM isn't the problem... I wonder if it could be a problem with my internal wifi card... I had about 80 MB RAM left and still got disconnected.

Even with all the updates that ROBLOX has received, my BenQ S6 has continued to play. I am having a lot of problems with disconnecting though, I'm not sure why. I am able to run a good allotment of games, but my main problem is that whenever I die, or if there is too much action, I disconnect. Any more ideas?

You have a problem of graphic card. Like all non-gaming pcs and mine. You should disable themes on windows. Go to 'My computer', right-click on it's icon, press advanced system settings, go on the 'Advanced' tab, go to performance and press settings, adjust for best performance. Close browsers, they can consume a lot of ram.

The version of Windows XP I'm running is the most stripped down you could get, themes are disabled, thanks though. What is the lowest version of DirectX supported by ROBLOX? I hear that lowering the version helps with FPS, I hadn't thought about that.
