eg. 7 + 5 = 12. Divide 2, = 6.
eg. 18 + 33 + 9 = 60. Divide 3, = 20.

An average doesn't mean that ALL the numbers, or in this case hours spent are what the average is.

Don't lie.
Look at your examples.
Whats adds up to get the number you divide, none of those are what the outcome is.
You can't assume that all the numbers that make up the average are what the average is.

If you can't explain why I am wrong, well. That shows something.
3 people are surveyed on how long their wee is.
1 says 3 feet, one says 7 feet, one says 50 feet.
Add them up, 60.
Divide by 3, you get 20.
But the the results were 3, 7 and 50.
But the average is 20.
You can't say to someone, that because of the AVERAGE their wee is 20 feet. |
