Recently, I've realized that Online Daters haven't got banned, or have a terrible punishment. Here is what I think the punishment system for ODers/ODer promoters should be:
For ODers:
When you get banned for ODing the first time, you get banned for a day and you have to take an online safety test, and if they fail, they will be banned for another day, and so on, until the 10th time, their account will be deleted.
If you succeed the test, but you still online date, you have to watch a video, and you get banned for a day again. If you say that you don't understand the video, you will get banned for 3 days.
If you understand the video, but still Online Date, you will get an email from the staff, and you have to be banned for 3 days.
When those 3 days are up, and the person still online dates, when you go to your profile, it will say, "This user is an Online Dater." If you OD again, you will get banned for 7 days, and you will have to do the quiz, watch the video, and you will get an email.
If you succeed all of those, and you still Online Date, you will either get a 14 day ban or an account deletion.
If you used to Online Date, you wouldn't be harmed, and you will get an email
from the staff saying that they are happy that you learned that rule.
People who promote ODing:
If you make a game promoting ODing, you will get a 3 day ban and a picture and game name test, and if you get them all wrong, your account will be deleted. If you get 25% of them right, your ban will turn into a 7 day ban. If you get half of them right, your ban will stay the same. If you get 75% of them right, your ban will change to a 1 day ban. If you got them all right, you will be unbanned. |

They don't take official action or predetermined measures against it because it is a trivial violation and each case will be different and need different measures taken against it.
Plus the people in charge of reporting it are the players. What gives them the right to say whose ODing or not? This can easily be used as a weapon agains someone.
No support, it's not even that big of an issue. I've yet to see a legitimately offensive ODer. The closest I've seen is graphic role playing. |
