There is no originality in the characters personalities, it has the most recycled, generic storylines, woman in general are portrayed in such a horrible manner that is both unrealistic and disturbing.
and the mere fact that some teenage kid can save the world with whatever op weapon he has, and can learn special skills that supposedly takes years to learn in like one day.
I can go on. Of course, there are a handful that are actually decent. For the most part, it is garbage. |

Another big issue I have is the main character immunity thing every anime likes to use.
yeah the main character somehow always barely lives and manages to beat the top guys with like a week of training yeah okay! |

SoL can sometimes be realistic
Off the top of my head, Kids on the Slope is about some kids who become friends through the power of jazz.
No evil villains or chose one.
Beck is about some losers forming a band.
Musical stuff is realistic for some reason.
