In the past 10 years.
He's played 69 more games than Molina and has 869 more PA. The only category Molina is better in in the past 10 years is defensive value and stolen bases. |

|
yadi has like 2,000 more PA as a catcher in the last 10 years

Martinez's average >molinas
HR> Molinas
RBI> molinas
and no catcher steals much so its not that important |
|
|
No, please leave, the door is that way --------> |
|
|
Martinez hasn't been a catcher as a Tiger at all really, but in general yeah he's better. |
|
|
yadi:
1,257 G
4,948 PA
1,274 H
242 2B
3 3B
94 HR
41 SB
350 BB
1,804 TB
.284 BA
.339 OBP
.403 SLG
.742 OPS
victor:
840 G
3,606 PA
958 H
201 2B
2 3B
187 HR
7 SB
562 BB
1,490 TB
.305 BA
.405 OBP
.535 SLG
.940 OPS
yadi has more hits, doubles, triples, stolen bases, AND total bases
and not only is yadi an overall better offensive player, don't even get me STARTED at defense
martinez: 0 gold gloves, 0 platinum gloves, 1 silver slugger, 5x all star
yadi: 2x world series champion, 6 gold gloves, 2 platinum gloves, 1 silver slugger, 6 fielding bibles, 6x all star
literally

Not 2000, but sure, Molina has 1281 more PA as a C in the last 10 years (04-14).
But Martinez's PA as a DH or anything other than a C didn't really come until 2011, and he didn't play in 2012.
A 10 year range is a little hard to compare because you have factor in stuff like that. I was just basing this off of your post on the other thread. |

yes, and on that thread i said yadi has been the best catcher in the MLB for the last 10 years
you said martinez was better, i laughed at my computer, then looked up his stats as catcher, then again laughed at my computer

Brian McCann would be a better comparison. He's played 1 less year than Molina (wasn't in MLB in 04)
McCann has only 367 less AB as a C. He has 196 HR/516 R/727 RBI/higher OBP/higher wOBA/higher wRC+/nearly the exact same WAR/way higher offensive value (Molina -33.9, McCann 47.4) |

^^^
pick apart that one please |
|
|
i would but i legit have to do homework that i've put off and need to do lol
if i have time i'll do it later

.305 average beats a .284 average every time |
|
|
i totally forgot about Martinez and his DH shenanigans. His PA as a Catcher fell off the map after 2010 |

".305 average beats a .284 average every time"
Batting average is a very deceiving stat. It doesn't factor in a lot of stuff. wOBA is the way to go. |

"958 H"
The number of hits he has as a catcher, I presume?

If I was in the American League. Id totally want Martinez over Molina. His bat is just that good. Always been one of the better hitters in the major leagues.
In the National League. It's lopsided for Molina since Martinez is dreadful catching. |
