But it was 5 am in the morning and I was just sitting on my bed thinking about life when I thought "wow nobody cares about pennies" then I was like wait, it's 2014 wouldn't it cost more to mint pennies than they're actually worth? and then I was like, don't taxpayers pay for coins to be minted? and then I thought to myself, if it costs more for pennies to be minted than they're actually worth, and taxpayers are paying for them to be minted, aren't we actually losing millions of dollars for producing pennies, which just about nobody uses anymore anyway?

I have lots of deep thoughts when i first wake up lol. Mostly it's just me making bitter reflections over bad memories.

"people still use them" not at all besides people who collect them or people who like to put things in jars, nobody pays for anything with pennies, and if you pay for something and your change is 2 cents, more people are likely to tell the cashier to keep the change rather than have two pennies making noise in their pocket
