[12].Important
As a player with a high bounty, I would constantly get calls from new players asking me questions that I have heard over and over, one of the obvious being "Are devil fruits out yet?" or "How do I get money?" After this had gone on for a few players I decided to create a guide that explains majority of the things you NEED to know in order to have fun and not quit within the first hour because things are too confusing. Well, without further ado, here is the guide!
--------------------------------------------------------
[1]==Spawning==
You have quite a few spawn options, depending on where you want to head or what you want to buy; choosing the correct spawn point is mandatory. I will not go into this topic too much because it all depends on what you want to do which would take ages for you to read. But in my opinion the best spawn would the island that has a light house and a button that lets you join the marines, it's also near a island that provides most of your needed items. Moving on to the next topic would be...
--------------------------------------------------------
[1.5]==GUI==
For your GUI it's pretty simple, you have an exchange tool to the right which lets you exchange money with other players if you click it and then type in
your amount.
You also have a "mute music," button which allows you to mute music so you don't have to listen to it or receive the annoying lag spikes when the music changes.
Lastly you have your crew menu, I won't explain this because there is already a guide for it in the description of the game.
On to the next topic.
--------------------------------------------------------
[2]==Starting Items==
Your starting gear comes with a linked sword, gathering basket, repair tool, a Den Den Mushi(phone), and a tool that allows you to hold and drop your gold.
This differs slightly for a marine, you will start with a cutlass instead of a linked sword and you will also be given a rifle.
Right now you want to most likely get rid of that linked sword which we will get to in a few more sections but I will first explain your starting items.
Linked Sword : It's a sword that does the least damage and has a horrible range but nonetheless still does damage and can help in a sticky situation
Gathering Basket: You will be using this a lot when you first start the game unless you find treasure on your own, if you hold it and click on a fruit or a patch of flowers you will gather them. You can sell them at a shop which I will explain later.
Repair Tool: Used to repair a ship, you need to buy repair materials to use this item, you can also upgrade this tool at a shop.
Den Den Mushi: Basically a phone, it will blink a red and blue text over the GUI icon that says "Ring," when you are being called. If you hold the phone a GUI will be shown, you can click on a name and then click on your screen, after that your phone should be ringing awaiting for the person you called to pick up. If the player answers it will say "Cacha," if the player ignores the call it will simply stop ringing and you will have to continue to call them, if they phone says "Click," while you are talking to someone that means they hung up. You can also see the hats the player is currently wearing on the phone while you are talking to them.
Cutlass : Marines spawn with this, it's an amazing weapon and you should keep it if you're a marine.
Rifle : Same with the cutlass, don't buy a flintlock, these are better. ( Not confirmed but still, why buy a flintlock that does the same thing or possibly does worse?)
That wraps up your starting items, but you really don't want to keep that horrible linked sword do you? Don't you want to repair your nearly broken ship? Well that's where the shops come in!
--------------------------------------------------------
[3]==The Shop==
So you want to buy a cutlass or a gun to shoot that person that keeps killing you huh? Well the shops are where you buy all these wonderful goods!
Weapons range from cutlasses to flintlocks. The current store does not carry that many weapons (don't worry according to developers they are working on new weapons) but, it has what a pirates and marines alike need which is...
--------------------------------------------------------
Start of list
--------------------------------------------------------

* = Recommended (for pirates)

---------------------------------------------------------
End of list
---------------------------------------------------------
[3]==Continuation of Shop==
So basically that's most of the shop items, I may be missing out on the food but you will mostly be buying orange juice and Martinis due to orange juice being cheap and filling hunger while Martini heals more than brew.
Also a cutlass generally does better than a katana while flintlocks are needed while chasing in water.
Also sail upgrades due to boats being generally slow without them. Speaking of boats, let's move onto our ship section.
---------------------------------------------------------
[4]==Ships/Boats==
There isn't much to explain about ships and boats besides the types and the costs. Keep in mind that all ships/boats have a max sail upgrade of 7!
(Side Note: There is another ship named the Lily Flaringo. Currently there is only one of these ships that uses pathfinding to sail the seas automatically, this ship is known for it's amazing martinis!)
----------------------------------------------------------
List Begin
----------------------------------------------------------
Ships:
* = Recommended
Sail Boat : Simple boat with no cannons. Really slow and only useful when you're poor and need to sail bad.
Schooner : Four cannons on top and a storage area on the bottom, somewhat slow but has cannons.
Brig : Four cannons on top two on bottom and storage area, faster decent ship.
*Frigate : Ideal ship, faster by default and has 4 cannons on top 4 on bottom.
War Ship : Many cannons on top and bottom, storage area and it's fast but cost a lot which makes it a bad choice when it comes to buying a Frigate.
All ships can receive 7 sail upgrades while the amount of ship upgrades they can receive differs. You always want to buy sail upgrades when you plan on being on the sea for a long amount of time so you can get from point "A," to point "B," faster than you would without them.
You will barely use ship upgrades unless you plan on fighting other ships and keeping your ship alive longer than the other. Same thing goes with the repair kit, if you want to stay alive longer upgrade your repair kit to the maximum amount at the shops then buy materials.
Let me repeat this, FIRST MAX OUT YOUR REPAIR KIT THEN BUY MATERIALS. The reason I stress this is because when you buy repair materials it gives you the max amount you can
carry, when you upgrade your repair kit it increases that limit so there is no need for you to constantly buy repair materials while upgrading your repair kit.
That's about it for ships, but we spoke about shops and ships... where do I get the money to buy them?
---------------------------------------------------------
[5]==Obtaining/Managing Money==
Buckle up your belts, this is going to be a long ride, literally. The ideal of making money is killing other players or finding treasure, so in order to buy the nice goodies in the shops you will need to get money.
Get on your boat and get sailing to islands to find treasure chest which you have to simply touch to receive the contents which would be some items that go into your treasure bag and a small amount of gold.
If you want to sell the treasure you will need to go to a shop and find a button that reads "Sell Treasure," or something of the sort. After you sell the treasure you receive the amount of gold that is based off the treasure you were holding, this will likely be larger than the gold you received by simply opening the chest.
Can't find any chest? Well you can kill people! Self explanatory, if you kill them you take a large portion of their gold.
Can't find chest or players? Use your gathering tool to gather and then sell things which will obviously take a really long time, just find treasure chest or kill players.
Now you have all this gold but you don't want to lose it when you die do you?! Well head on over to a bank which universally holds you gold over two locations (Conge and Piffar refer to your map) without the risk of losing it.
But there is a catch, if you deposit in 10000 gold only 5000 is actually deposited in the bank. If you withdraw 10000 though you get the full 10000 gold you requested.
That's pretty much it for banks besides the limit being 50000 that you can hold, after that you will have to hold the rest and hope that you don't get killed by another player looking for gold or maybe even...
---------------------------------------------------------
[6]==Bounty==
(SIDE NOTE : Some players use their friends to obtain free bounty by repeatedly killing them therefore making their bounties higher than it would be if they played normally.)
So you killed your first player and now you have some numbers near your name on the leader board, if you guessed bounty you were right, if you guessed money quit the game.
Jokes aside bounty is useless and can not help you in any in-game way through the games normal mechanics as of the age of piracy update. It's basically shows how many players you killed without being killed a lot for pirates.
Pirates with high bounties will be seen frequently on posters that spawn in towns and on marine base walls that can be obtained by simply clicking them. After you equip a poster and click a arrow will appear above your head and will point towards the direction of the player that appears on the poster.
You can have positive bounty for pirates and negative for marines, this is where the line between marines and pirates are crossed and why being a marine has more advantages along with spawning with weapons, receiving paychecks and not losing as much bounty when they die. But when a pirate is killed by a marine a player should plan on losing a large portion of their bounty. For example, a player with 6000 bounty to his name would probably lose 1000 to 1300 bounty if he were killed by a marine. A marine would probably lose a smaller amount, not sure on the numbers but it's small enough where marines do not have to fear being killed and losing nearly all their bounty.
That's about it for bounty, but what do you need to obtain bounty? WEAPONS!
---------------------------------------------------------
[7]==Weapons==
Most of the weapons are listed on the shop list so you can review them there. I'm going to be blunt with this, buy only a cutlass and a flintlock as a pirate, keep your starting items as a marine. Only use a katana/saber if you have no other choice because it seems as if most players do better with a cutlass.
What about logia type devil fruit users , yes there are devil fruits users and you will have to get used to them no matter how annoying they are. You can't attack them by normal means, you need to go to a island named Celphur,(refer to your map) here you will find a button that reads "Seastone Sword : 1000," these swords will allow you to attack logia devil fruit users but you will still not be able to deactivate their powers.
Wow so you only get a cutlass and a flintlock? WRONG! If you crossed a sandy shore or opened a chest you may have seen or received a shell like item, this is a dial, if you watched one piece you will get a idea of what they do, if you did not then watch it or Google them I will not explain them all. There are several dials...
---------------------------------------------------------
List Begin
---------------------------------------------------------
Dials:
c = Charge
(Side Note: It's better to hold down the dial rather than spam clicking them such as a dial like Breath or Flame that has a rapid fire mode.)
Milky Dial : 10 C
Breath Dial : 300 C
Axe Dial : 5 C
Impact Dial : 5 C
Reject Dial: 3 C
Lamp Dial : 500 C
Flash Dial : 5 C
Flame Dial : 150 C
----------------------------------------------------------
List End
----------------------------------------------------------
[7]==Continuation of Weapons==
Dials do the same as they would in the anime mostly, it's better if you find out what they do yourself though because they're awesome!
Speaking of opening chest, you may find something else... like a legendary weapon!
----------------------------------------------------------
List Begin
----------------------------------------------------------
Legendary Weapons:
Kikoku
Golden Cutlass
Sandai Kitetsu
Ivory Blade
Sparkling Rainbow Blade (Not confirmed name but you get the idea)
(MORE)
----------------------------------------------------------
List End
----------------------------------------------------------
[7]==Continuation of Weapons==
Legendary weapons as of now do not provide a damage bonus, also they are not permanent and are removed after you leave the server as of Age of Piracy update.
That about wraps up all the weapons, more are bound to be added and I will have to edit this guide then. But there is something else to mention about chest...
----------------------------------------------------------
[8]==Hats==
These are completely aesthetic and do not contribute to anything but looking cool, there is not much else to say but from what I know, all are from the anime...
----------------------------------------------------------
List Begin
----------------------------------------------------------
Obtainable Hats:
Law's Hat
Straw Hat
Mossy Hair
Super Hair
(MORE)
----------------------------------------------------------
List End
----------------------------------------------------------
[8.5]==Sword Fighting==
There isn't really much to this topic considering most of the sword fighting is based on lag and luck. This game gives players higher health and different
swords resulting in it taking more damage to kill a player.
With this, you must sword fight differently, there is no instant kills but you can still trick players and then turn around on them, most of it's normal but
you will be wanting to swing your sword around more as you strafe most likely to the right or left (I prefer the left).
That's about it, the rest is up to lag and luck and how many shots you hit with your flintlock, good luck.
-----------------------------------------------------------
[9]Other things that you should know -
~Ghost ships constantly spawn around the world and de-spawn quickly, most of the time you will not be able to reach them before they de-spawn but if you do, you get two nice steel chests
~Storms randomly spawn around the world, they also spawn waves that can damage your ship and will also push you back if you face the wave directly while on foot and possibly while sitting on a boat seat.
~Big waves are randomly and will heavily damage your ship. They also go through more land than a normal wave would.
~There are two chest sizes and two chest properties, small or large and gold or steel. Not sure how this alters your chances of receiving better treasure or dials/hats/legendary weapons.
(MORE IS BOUND TO BE ADDED TO THIS UNSORTED LIST OF INFORMATION)
-----------------------------------------------------------
[10]== The End of The Guide ==
So I taught you nearly everything you really need to know to be able to play One Piece Online without wanting to quit soon after, I hope you take this knowledge and make the most out of it. Have fun sailing, killing pirates or marines, finding treasures and maybe even something more special...
-----------------------------------------------------------
[11]==Credits==
~I mainly want to thank Aura and Naru for making such a awesome game without going crazy and making game passes everywhere. Also Axxerus for keeping some players in check.
~I would also like to thank 7bidmac for helping me with some of the names of legendary Weapons and some dial charges along with some other information.
------------------------------------------------------------
[12]==Important==
-Devil fruits are not out as of Age of Piracy update nor is haki nor is any of the Rokushiki skills. They are there but you can not obtain them by normal means, do not beg for them because you will most likely not receive them. Wait patiently for the powers to be released and then go crazy when they do.
-Also the reason I did not talk about treasure chest locations, or dial locations is because that defeats the purpose of playing the game. I feel that there are some things are better left for you to find out.
-------------------------------------------------------------
This guide is open to any ideas, post them in the comments on what you think I should add/change, thank you for reading!
