I never had a father to check my homework so I can't relate to that.. I can however relate to the whole teacher thing as a teacher in my previous years was the same. |

I'm in 8th Grade, so far, so good. Just a lot of testing, and boring lunches. I got separated from some of my friends because the math teacher had to switch up the classes because their averages are BAD.
I'm in gifted. It doesn't sound so great because they can throw you in a gifted course that you're not really good at. I got in gifted LA probably because of a standardized test score that barely exceeded in Reading and English. (not much improvement from 6th to 7th in those area) These standards are pretty ill, and as a result, class averages are terrible. Some of my friends skipped 1 year of math education just to be in gifted.
Our math teacher just keeps talking and talking. It's worse when she teaches with a powerpoint. Wish she spoke tersely, to the point. |

She doesn't really check our homework. I feel wasted just doing it and not getting rewarded.
On the polar opposite, my 7th Grade math teacher just make us do homework all the time. They were graded for completion. Sucked because value of work is the same for everyone who completed it. |

If you don't feel as though you're accomplishing anything with your academic mathematical work, I would suggest that you revise your skills consistently outside of a academic facility simply to analyze potential errors in your interpretation and develop a more "solid" foundation for your skills. |

Any user with that particular kind of perspective, essentially. |

My friends pretty much. |

my parents don't know half the math they teach today
1. cause it's absolutely useless
2. they never had any need for it in their life
3. schools had common sense back then |

Common "Mathematics" is crucial for a wide variety of task's, education facilities in those particular years still taught a significant amount of the mathematical knowledge the the one's now contain.
It would be highly difficult to accomplish much of anything without over-all mathematical insight and you'll utilize "Mathematics" much more often than you realize.

I can help if you need!
Just give me a ring. :D |

"education facilities in those particular years still taught a significant amount of the mathematical knowledge the the one's now contain."
except back then they didnt force the heck out of you to learn
every single bit of mathematics to the point you're albert einstein when it's over.

yeaa cause it's so important to know that:
last january fred took a dump
he dropped 5 long stems into the bowl
if 5 + flushing velocity > 10
clog toilet
else
flush |

"Mathematics" is a system of "logical" concepts that requires you interpret the knowledge you acquire of it's components to develop "plausible" solutions to the various "problems" you'll encounter.
None of the information provided in an academic setting of that level will give complete knowledge of all mathematical concepts neither are you required to become highly skilled at "Advanced" levels of "Mathematics";The information provided is intended to be utilized as fundamental components of a structural system to enable you to grasp more complex mathematical concepts much better while revising your over-all understanding of the concepts.
If you have a negative perspective of the information, you'll be much less likely to try to learn more about it, regardless of the difficulty.
