To be honest, it sucks. However 99.99% of the time, that is what your first game will be like. Mine was horrible, heck, even Shedletsky's first place was TERRIBLE.
Here is some tips:
1. Don't over-rely on Free Models. While they may be great as a little boost, for example a Leaderboard where you don't know crap about a Leaderboard, just using them and them only will make your game get some less constructive criticism. Take a dive into the unknown! Experiment. That is the only way your game will ever get good as a dev.
2. Please, please, PLEASE use the ROBLOX wiki for things you do not know about. Single-handly, the worst mistake many a newbie make is to attempt to learn by themselves. Listen, it is impossible to learn without exterior help. It is your bible, and it is your Healthcare. USE IT!
3. Do not be scared with scripting. If I decided to learn how to script years ago, I will not be having so much trouble making a ROBLOX game now. Learn LUA! Go intense!
4. To truly get well known, get a Ad fund. Something as simple as an Donation gamepass will allow you to get popular. Heck, take a look at every single game on the front page. They all have some way of monetizing. This ain't just for hats, it is used to advertise games and future games to ROBLOX. You are not gonna get 10,000 visitors a day by advertising on "I Made That."
I hope I see you on the front page soon. Anyone can make a great game. |
