Episode 5: Fight in the Band Hall
Bram, District 6, and Derek and Lauren, District 7, are in the band hall. In order to keep people out, they barricaded the small entrance with stackable chairs. It seemed as if it would be impossible to get in.
“So Bram, you have a machete, and Lauren, you have a throwing dagger. We seem pretty prepared!” Derek exclaimed.
“Don’t forget you landmines that you placed by the barricaded door! Anyone who pushes those things down will go out with not one, but two bangs!” Bram snickered.
They all chuckled. “So as far as we know, Joshua, the guy you killed, is dead. Who else?” Lauren questioned.
“Don’t forget, I killed Abby! And Gavin was first to die. So District 8 is gone, as well.” commented.
“And Emily,” Bram sighed. He had been close to Emily before they were both reaped. “I hope to avenge her.”
“The last death was Madeline for District 5, and Districts 11 and 12 were both wiped out in bloodbath.” Lauren had a device that allowed her to see all the dead tributes, considering the roof didn’t allow the faces in the sky.
BOOM! The alliance was startled. But this was no cannon that made them all jump, it was Derek’s landmines! Someone had pushed the chairs down onto them! Glass from around the room had shattered everywhere, giving them all cuts and scrapes. That wasn’t the scary part though.
The cannon hadn’t gone off. Whoever did this was still alive. Bram, Derek, and Lauren all hid in smaller rooms around the band hall to hide from this tribute, or tributes. He or she could’ve been a lot stronger.
Maxwell walked in with his katana in his right hand. His left arm had almost been amputated by the explosion.
“Please, I need bandages!” His original intention was to kill whoever was inside, but now he was just looking for help.
“Who are you!?” Derek had walked out of the room, with a sword in hands. He was shocked to see Maxwell. Derek didn’t have the heart to just kill him. He had to help Maxwell. But how?
“Please, I’m going to die!” Maxwell was on his knees by this time. Derek was searching through cabinets, trying to find bandages, a first-aid kit, or even toilet paper! Unfortunately, the last thing is what he found.
“Close your eyes,” Derek said, trying to calm Maxwell down. He told him to close his eyes for more than calming him down, though. He was hiding a tiny but deadly landmine into his bandages just in case he tried to betray them.
About ten minutes later, all of Derek’s allies were staring at Maxwell, now resting.
“He’s dangerous!” Lauren tried to warn them. “He betrayed his ally, Madeline!”
“Who knows? We saved his life. We can use him as our guard.” Derek said.
“How? What if he just wakes up and tries to kill us all right then and there? We won’t be ready for it!”
Maxwell was awake by now, listening to everything they said.
“I placed a tiny explosive with a detonator inside his bandages. If he become trouble, then we’ll just blow him-” Derek stopped talking when the detonator flew across the room.
Maxwell’s katana shot through Derek, almost killing him. He was furious! Bram ran towards the detonator, but only got to kick it farther away from Maxwell. BANG! Maxwell stabbed Bram in the neck! It was up to Lauren. She threw her dagger at Maxwell.
It missed. Maxwell grabbed it and threw it back. BANG! He didn’t miss.
Maxwell grabbed the detonator. He had to hide so no one could find it. But Derek was still alive, barely. Maxwell hid in an instrument locker and locked it back up. Unfortunately, the lockers only had bars. Maxwell ran off to the farthest place away from the Band Hall as he could.
Derek was crawling over to the locker very slowly. Finally, he made it. He was still barely alive. With what little strength he had left, he pulled the small lever.
Maxwell heard a beeping noise. He looked down at his bandage, and it was flashing green. BEEP BEEP BEEP! BOOM! BANG!
A second cannon went off after that. BANG! It was Derek himself. But he had still done it. He had killed Maxwell. He had wiped out the game’s greatest threat. Well, besides the careers…
