when it comes to education, it depends on the parents, they dont give the not as smart kids more reasons to try in school. It doesnt help when you get a new xbox360 and say LOLLOL YOU CAN SKIP HOMEWORK TONIGHT ROT YOUR BRAIN!!LOLOPLOL

Increasing school hours seems perfectly reasonable. This way we can catch up with the other countries that have vastly more efficient education systems, like.... most of the other western countries.

My father Went to school for about 6 hours and had like 2 one hour brakes and back then USA had best education system. I blame the changing society, more people believe i can be an actoR or pro skater!!!!! Not alot of people are caring about school because they think they dont need it. Stupid, they are

I concur with meatbridge1. You might perceive education as boring but in the long run its beneficial.

Well thats lucky for me... But hes cutting your summer holidays to only four weeks. Thats even less than ours! Ours is six weeks. But rising the school day?But anyway, you guys will be thanking him... in future. You will get better jobs. Obama has only done this because the USAs grades are slipping BAD. If some of you guys didnt get so bad grades that wouldnt have happened. Oh well.

He has tested it out. The few schools he tried it on the pupils said YES because they are learning a lot more. Well that means he is MOST LIKELY to do that to all the schools. But this idea may get voted out. But probally not... Have hope...

Has anyone else noticed that with better educated people there's soon not going to be any good jobs left over because other well-educated people took them already, and the only jobs left will be at McDonalds? ~I have a pie. Don't touch it or it will eat j00~

''when you get a very good job, you'll thank Obama for it.'' Its not the hours or amount of homework. I heard that we in Finland have kinda short school days and we don't get so much homework. Still we got one of the highest score in the Pisa tests. So you can freely thank Obama for ruining your childhood 8)

@ Wemmi0 Baha. Obama has to ruin everything. I'm smart enough. He isn't ruining my life if he inforces this.

Country has thrived? You're trillions of dollars in debt! Something that more schooling may have helped with. Y' know, the class about not borrowing more than you can pay back.
