Okay, I support this. Hate to say it, but I hate how the admins get all festive for events like Halloween (which I don't actually celebrate), and then pass off a big event (for Brits) like Bonfire Night with one face. ... Come on... We need something else!

I think Halloween is worldwide, in comparsion with Bonfire Night. I mean, Sinterklaas is the biggest event in The Netherlands, and i'm not complaining about hats.

Really? I wouldn't say Halloween is worldwide. I mean, I don't know about Australia, Africa and the rest of Eurasia, but here in England (or at least where I live), we just maybe rent a horror movie and pig out on sweets at midnight. It's supposed to be a thing but it isn't, really. But we go crazy for the 5th of November. Seriously, my dog's already lost his voice from barking at all the fireworks.

The funny thing is, i had to do a presentation about Guy Fawkes Day a couple years ago at school, and the backstory is a bit sad. Long story short: Some fellas want to blow up the house of lords, the gunpowder plot fails, Guy Fawkes gets tortured, everyone gets executed, the end. And this very day we put dolls impersonating them on a large bonfire and dance around it. Correct me if i'm wrong, but how is that considered something to party about?

Us British people celebrate it because I think the king survived and if the gun powder plot actually went on, he would have died.

In my opinion, we celebrate it as Brits because it shows the dedication that Guy Fawkes and his Catholic allies had to expand their religion.
