all the missions feature huge battles (which i love) and it's the only cod game that i've played that actually made me feel like i was there

Sure, he wasn't actually there, but the game made him feel immersed in the atmosphere of the game. The intensity of the game's battle made him feel the adrenaline, so to speak. The Big Red One and World at War: Final Fronts are my favorite out of the early series. I don't even consider the modern version of CoD to be related to the older, historical version.
