syncopated percussion, clap on three traditional dubstep was really heavy on sub-bass, but brostep changed that with emphasis on midrange bass frequency

I don't even know anymore. I usually just say it's Dubstep if it's electronic trying to be brvtal. There's also been a semi-recent branch of Electronic called Complextro that may or may not be a re-branding of Dubstep.
