who says you can only fire one shot? if i'm going to keep a weapon such as a pistol in my house for defense, it's going to be loaded and i will fire several shots into their knees or legs then call the police / 911 immediately and get them to a hospital

i think calling the police would be a much better solution, they'd want to scan the area of the crime and whatnot first

that's not true, COs in previous drafts were often required to serve in non-combat roles of the military (which i would still be opposed to) or work as a fire fighter (or other jobs like that) or something if i remember correctly
