The William Guide Introduction Welcome to the official William handbook. In this guide you will be tested to study and remember most of the information presented in it. There will be commands and rules of the william. You may be tested at trainings and such so this information is very useful. *****Note: Many of these commands were not thought of by me but were gathered from other guides. Table of Contents I. Behavior of a pirate Pirates whom are in the same crew are expected to show loyalty to each other and to their captains. Even if you are not in the same crew as another pirate you are still expected not to RK them or TK them unless they are your pirate crews enemy. Pirates of The William are also expected to not RK or TK in any situation. TK'ing is strongly prohibited but RK can occur if you are sent/against a person/crew. Pirates are expected to only kill another person in defense or if there is ever a riot/raid at the fort. Pirates must not act "Noobish" around others especially not their captain (Lainsan3). Pirates are expected to have memorized at least some of this handbook in order to get a promotion or further on continue being a pirate. A pirate will also respect higher authorities, in this case HR'S HR's tittles First Mate: Any first mate will be called First mate/Mate [Insert first mate name here] Quartermaster: Any Quartermaster will be called Master/QM [Insert Quartermaster name here] Captain: The Captain will be referred to as Cap'n/Captain/Cap Lain/Madelaine (In the williams case) Pirates will also be expected to warn higher authorities of problems rather than taking it on themselves and making it possibly worse. A pirate must show discipline, loyalty, and respect towards other. If a pirate is to misbehave at another fort or even at Fort Pitt they may be demoted/exiled/temporarily removed from the pirate crew. II. Basic Formations (Not Many) STS- side to side/shoulder to shoulder SFL- single file line SQUARE- Forming a square based on how the commander counts. 1’s move on right right side, 2’s stay still, 3’s move on the left side, 4’s move on the opposite closing the square. Used to defend from any cavalry attacks. III. Basic Commands Musket Drills -Fix Bayonets: Placing bayonets on musket. (B) -Address Bayonets: Removing bayonets from musket. (B again) -Shoulder Arms: Placing musket with attached bayonet on shoulder. (F) -Make Ready: Readying Musket. (N) -Take Aim // Present: Aiming musket. (F/N) -Charge Bayonets: Thrusting your bayonets while staying still. (E) -Bash: Using musket to bash. (X) -Fire: Firing your musket. (Left Mouse Click) -Fire at Will: Firing on your own accord. (Left Mouse Click) **Automatic reload and shoulder -Order Arms: Remove the musket tool Sabre Commands -"Slash": Double click in direction told -"Slice": One click in direction told. -”Hold Position”: P -”Make Ready”: M -”Charge”: C -”On Me”: N -”Fire”: F -”Advance”: Z -”Fire at Will”: G -”Fall Back”: H Faces -Left Face- 90 degree turn to your left -Right Face- 90 degree turn to your right -About Face- 180 degree turn -Left Oblique- 45 degrees to your left -Right Oblique- 45 degrees to your right -Center Face- In a rank, face the Officer -Forward Face- In a file, face the front where the officer is standing Firing Commands -Fire by Volley- Firing all at once when the officers orders a “Fire” -Fire by File- Firing one after the other (in turns) starting from the officer’s side -Fire at Will- Fire on your own accord. Do not stop until a “Cease Fire” is ordered -Cease Fire- Stop firing -Commence Firing- Keep firing every time you reload until a “Cease Fire” is ordered. In a Fire by Volley, wait for your turn to fire again Line Commands -”On me!”- Form a file behind the officer -Center- Form a rank on the officer’s left -”On my right!”- Form on the Officer’s right -”Attention!”- Order arms and stay silent. Pay attention for further orders. Marching Commands -”Forward… March!”- Begin marching behind the officer -”Company… Advance!”- Same thing. Begin marching behind the officer -”Prepare…”- Be ready to halt -”Halt!”- Stop marching. Make sure to keep a 1 stud spacing between the person in front Cavalry Commands “Mount!”- Mount the horse closest to you, or the horse you rode last. “Dismount!”- Dismount the horse, and stand 2-3 studs directly in front of it. “Present… Blades!”- Equip your sabre, and keep in the passive position. “Give… Point!”- Ready your sabre in a attacking position (T twice). “Sheath… Blades!”- Put your sabre away. “Passive!”-Put your blade in a passive position while mounted (T once) “Trott!”- Slow your horse, and keep at that speed unless called to adjust (E) “Gallop!”- Full speed, should only be called when the formation is complete (E) “Adjust!”- A warning that the formation is starting to fall apart. IV. Piracy Ranks (May be outdated by- New ranks being added) Captain: The one who commands the ship, Basically the leader. Quartermaster: 2ic. distributes, rations, powder, work, prize, and punishment. First Mate: Head of the deck department- Kind of a second captain- Shares 2ic but basically 3ic BoatSwain: Responsible for all deck works. Helmsman: Person who steers ship/boat. MasterGunner: Handles any cannon- no matter side- guns when/where ever. Cabin Boy/Girl: Basically an apprentice expected to learn all ways of the pirate life Starboard Gunner: Starboard=Right side gunner PortSide Gunner: Left Side= Handles all guns/cannons on left side Allied Crew: Allied crew to The William LandLubber: Person unfamiliar with ship or sea- needs to be trained V. Proper Attire -Wear the full uniform (pants and legs) during raids or when told, Not always. -Wear proper head gear that follows the colonial era (no space or troll hats) -No packages. PERIOD -No inappropriate T-Shirts. Only if they fit with the uniform.
