dude i'm pretty sure that's a family tradition everywhere. one of our decorations every year is literally a paper plate that i drew a picture of our dog on when i was in kindergarten....
One of the ornaments is a bell that I drew on construction paper, cut out poorly, hole punched, and attached a piece of yarn to it. It's kind of pitiful looking.
