They use English as if it were an official language; the language is used in court, the government, on packaging, et cetera. They just don't want to admit it for some reason.

eh. not really. The United States has a large immigrant population from around the world with different languages and cultures. So in reality, there is no ''official language''.

@godzilla2321: Canada has a large immigrant population as well but its official languages are English and French. Just because there are minorities, doesn't mean it's impossible to have an official language. Most developed countries have immigrants whose original languages are not official in the country they live. @isoiso74: Sure, yeah, that's what the Americans say. English is clearly treated as the official language there and may as well be.

'US doesn't have an official language' The US doesn't have an official language on a federal level, apparently, but their national language is definitely English (American).

Spanish is the co-official language of New Mexico, and the official language of Puerto Rico. English is only treated as official because the most people speak it.

The USA us a mixture of different races and cultures. So that's why we don't really have an official language. Although the most common language in the USA is English.

@isoiso74: In Canada, the official language of all provinces except two is English. The official language of Quebec is French. The official languages of New Brunswick are English and French. This doesn't mean that the country cannot have official languages. @DarkestOfDragons: Canada is a mixture of different races and cultures. Canada has official languages. The fact that there are minorities in the United States does not change the fact that English is pretty much official.
