Why? Because no Empire lasts forever and america thinks its an exception.
Here is some evidence to support my thesis, America is a global super power, yes. However if you look at the recent pattern in Foreign policy for the best 11 years you will realize the constant Destabilization of a legitimate regime or party within a nation, support a "rebellion" with weapons and not, who are usually terrorist or fundamentalist. Once the legitimate regime is toppled the "rebels' turn their face towards the US and for their ideological agenda which often times has to do with Terrorism. So then the US has a reason to enter a foreign nation in the name of defending freedom of the people when in reality they have their own reasons (Oil, Geo political positions) and what not. Often times in fact the US intelligence has created these 'terrorist" organizations.
Like Al Qaeda, Khorasan Group, and off shoots of ISIS, but the US did in fact arm and support ISIS in the name of rebels against Assad, another example of Geo political chess.
I picked these recent years as an example, but this has been going for decades, in fact the United States was further developed and founded on Genocide.
This kind of reminds of a Certain Empire... Right, the British Empire and we saw how well that ended for their glorious Empire, difference is I doubt the Middle East will be forgiving as India.
The Biggest irony in all of this is, by US definition the Founding fathers were in fact Terrorist themselves.

Im not going to go on my way to provide sources for common knowledge, if you actually bothered to do some reading or just search yourself you would know it is a fact that the US supported ISIS in its "rebellious" fight against the Assad regime, which the US has admitted to?
