"Among other things," He says. |
"I don't know what you're talking about." I say, frankly. |

"Why didn't the creature kill you?" He asks. |
"Again, do you mean the lion?"
((lel, i cant even remember if there was something else)) |

"That beast wasn't a lion," The man says.
(There was nothing else yet, but you've only been here for a number of days, this guy's been here for years, he likely knows of hundreds of dangerous things here that you don't.) |
((This is going in a very interesting direction."
"Not a lion? What is it, then?" I ask, trying not to scream or move. |

"I have no idea if it has a name - I haven't ever had a need to give it one, and I'm the closest thing to a sane companion you'll find here. Be warned that I'll be watching you closely, in case my enemies actually did send you," The man says, as he heads off. Because you can't really do anything because you're trapped in quicksand up to your neck, I assume you just wait, and after about twenty minutes, he returns with a coil of rope, one end of which he throws over to you. |
I grab it tightly for dear life. "Who are your enemies? Who are you? WHat the hell am I supposed to call you? Should I kill your or not?" I ask. |

"My enemies are too numerous to simply list, and as I said earlier, I'm the only thing on this island not likely to kill you without provocation. Now, for your last question, attempting to kill me would be sufficient provocation for me to kill you." The man says, pulling on the rope, attempting to get you out of the quicksand. |
"Oh wow, as if throwing me in a pile of quicksand like it's a normal day is not attempting to murder me." I say, doing my best to get out. |

"It wouldn't've gotten above your chin. I had a shallower pile of quicksand a hundred metres to the east for in case I found anyone shorter. I really just needed you immobilized while I asked you some questions. If I wanted you dead, I would have impaled you with a spear as I had killed the creature - The one you mistakenly thought was a lion." |
"Thanks, Jim." I say, rolling my eyes. |

"My name's not Jim," The man says, as you finally get free of the quicksand. |
"You refuse to tell me your name, so I'll just change it till I get it right, George." |

"If you must know, my name is Victor," the man says. |
"/Thank you/, Victor. I don't like your "mysterious act".". |

"I apologize for not stating my name earlier," Says Victor, "I've been on this damned island for so long that I forgot most things that don't involve killing and surviving." |
"That's.. nice, I guess?" I tense slightly. |

"No, it's not really all that nice at all," the man says. |
