@DarkImperiator For the record, Google is your friend. But to put it simply, its an moving image that has different or similar other images animating in a constant loop. GIF's would be cool, and it does save the work of having multiple decals uploaded to create your own animating GIF's, but an issue is that some GIF's would be hard to moderate. Perhaps a limit could be accounted for in this feature, so people aren't uploading 20sec animations for other people to see.

@Kelly Isn't that the same argument with regular .png, .jpeg and the other image files that Roblox already lets us upload? And if they let an NSFW image in, the administrators are the ones to blame for that. They've got a team to monitor newly uploaded images, just that team is based solely in America and only works at certain hours of the day. Because us Europeans don't upload ANY decals at all. *cough* 345 pages Roblox. *cough*

I have one question; Where would we be putting the gif's?? Because if it's in ads then it's not going to happen. (The admins have said this before)

@Guest93640 GIF's could be used for conventional means as well. Game creators can use it for aesthetics and all sorts of ideas to make their games look more appealing. We could even use it on the forums, but then again it ends up being a whole new update on itself. Oh, I never said this on my last post. Support!

@Guest I'd presume in games. For instance, a player wants to set up a looping news broadcast for ambiance. They can't script on Roblox very well, so they can't do that option. The next best thing is a .GIF file that they can use to create the ambient effect.

@fameus Literally explained how it will help the community only one post above yours. There's people who can build near flawlessly but can't script worth a rat's backside. .GIF files will help them to set up certain events.

@fameus Can already do what? I can't upload my .GIF files to Roblox, nor can I script a decent animated TV screen even to play two separate images on a loop. I never bothered to learn how to script, but there are beginners to scripting who would use .GIF files very well, especially considering they don't have the skills to string together several regular decals in to an animated screen.

Support, I also think gifs could be used in people's "blurbs" or like the "what are you up to?". I think it should be where you can submit gifs to roblox and they will decide if they are appropriate or not because ones that are too 'scary', epilepsy triggering, or just plain nsfw wouldn't be allowed in I believe. And so then roblox users could only use the ones in the approved list by like typing in :gif 1236 or like there could be a button that says 'add gif' and then you put the gif's id to use it.
