Here's one of many, it's totally true and I feel totally bad: Anyways I used to take private "karate" lessons about 15 years ago, and one day the instructor had his baby daughter with him for whatever reason. She was sitting on some stairs when the instructor turned his back or went to get something (I forget exactly what he did, but all that matters is that he didn't notice me) and I was practicing some karate moves, not paying attention to the baby when I roundhouse kicked her in the head. She immediately started crying and would not stop crying so we had to cut the lesson short. I felt bad then but it only got worse. All my lessons had been cancelled because the instructor had to attend to his daughter. I didn't think much of it, because that's what parents do, be busy with kids. It was a few years later I found out she "fell off a step" which had resulted in permanent brain damage. I knew it was my fault. There was no denying it, I gave that baby brain damage, of course I never really knew how bad until recently. I saw her 2 years ago. She was in a wheelchair being pushed by her father. She can't control her muscles or speak properly. Only then did I realize I ruined someone's life forever. I know this all sounds far fetched but it's not, this actually happened and I have never forgiven myself for it. I don't know why I'm posting this here, but I figure I might as well tell the truth for once, if only to be quickly forgotten. tl;dr i kicked a baby by accident and gave it permanent brain damage.

"did you ever manage to apologize? " I couldn't because he didn't know I did it. When he asked me what happened I said I didn't know. She fell off a step and that's the way it's going to stay.

"thats the dad's fault, i would have told him what i did and said stop bringing your baby to karate lessons you inconsiderate moron" looking back on it, it did seem clumsy to have his daughter in close proximity to karate, let alone on the stairs. but trust me he knows this, and he blames himself. i just try to forget about the whole thing.
