I think that it all has to do with society. Soceity decided that shouldn't be said, worn, done, ect. It all evolves, though. Like clothing, for example. It seems showing your stomach isn't as socially unacceptable as it was before. It used to be inappropriate for a girl to wear her hair down, or wear a dress above her knees. That's not the story now. Same goes for curse words. Saying the "F" or "B" word are completely normal out in the open. Those words are being used so much it doesn't matter. The "r" word has become socially unacceptable, even when used in the correct context. In 100 years from now, new things will become unacceptable, and other things will become accepted.
