We might have to remove the message system. Its an awful idea and we wont be able to send messages to each other anymore, which sucks, but around at least 200 people are losing their accounts daily because of them bots sending messages to people. Trust me, I dont want it to happen, but I don't think theres another way around it. If it actually happens, people are gonna be horrible to me and stuff.
Trust me though, them guys (or girls, they use girl accounts) can either rob a ROBLOX account, break a guy's PC, or fry the hard drive (take all the data, the worst thing about it.) Or even all 3.
So when you hear this idea it'll sound awful, but around about 15 minutes of the consideration about it, you should decide what's best. They can find another way around it, but this is probably the easiest and simplest way.

If you'd like to message someone, do it in a party. Much easier.

Sometimes you get important messages from people. I know you cant get them at all if there's no messages anymore at all, but you can tell people via party? It crashes the game they're in if they're in a game too, so they'll be likely to see.
And its not about me, its about the people who join that are new and think it's SERIOUS. |

I tried to ignore it, and I have been for the past MONTH. Honestly... This has went on for a month. It'll get annoying getting one of them a day. And again its not really about me, its about the people who are new to the game. They wont give one less about the account but when their PC is gone and some guy's looking over your file... Then they start to care. |

Anyone got their opinions on this idea? After the ragequit above, a lot of people can't see this so they wont know to set it to friends only. And the people who join that are new are getting their PCs blown up and along with it their data stolen. |

Here is my idea, YOURE OVER REACTING. How about you simply ignore the link, how insane does a red dot next to messages drive you? Stop. This is a terrible idea that is never going to happen.

If Roblox really felt like helping they would send out a massive message telling people not to click on random links because obviously a lot of people don't actually go on forums and read this specific post. It of course won't stop it completely but it should reduce it significantly if people can comprehend a simple message. |

I mean, some people who are a day old are gonna think its true and click the link. Then.. Bam, their data robbed, their account robbed, their PC gone. This is how serious it is. |

But it'll start the Comment Age up all over again. People will put them hacks on comments. But about the thing you said that its their own fault.
Anyone can fall for it, honestly. They think they're gonna exploit them robux or something, but they rob the account.

it's good but there is a problem.
Honestly I get these messages daily too, but it isn't just once a day it's 5 times and I am getting sick of it. Newer people are problay getting viruses like the trojan from these ads and other horrible things happen.
But heres one problem, my friends are very hard to contact and just using party doesn't work. I use messages to talk to them most of the time, so what I did is turn it on just friends. If someone really wants to say something important i'm sure they will have some sort of way to contact you like follow party or chat. So I can't really give you support...but you should really consider just turning it to friends only. |

That's like saying we should not allow people to board airplanes because dangerous people could sneak on.
There are compromises. For this thread, putting your PM's to ''friends only'' is the compromise, at least until ROBLOX itself finds a way to stop these kinds of PM's from spreading. Removing an entire key feature won't change a thing. It'll just cause the people who send the PM's find another way to get it to people.
