I support. In fact there should be a "Prove Your Not a Bot" Feature on the sign up page that is required to be checked and succeeded in order to get an account. If you do not know what it is, it is basically an check box that when clicked, puts a random choose a thing test. It may not permanently remove bots on this site, but it will lessen the numbers.

7 days minimum and a hidden Captcha within the send button. That's how you stop the bots.

I'm absolutely fed up having to turn my messaging settings to followers and friends only because of these stupid scammers. But at least turn it down to 30 days (1 month), otherwise total support.
