In some parts it doesn't snow so when it does we aren't prepared for it Plus Spain is generally packed tighter in cities while US cities are very distant I live in the desert when it snows school will be canceled

Hey, in europe you cancel if its 'too hot' outside. So don't be bickering, + the majority of the kids ride the bus to school because the schools are usually a bit far away. So if it snows it takes time to plow the snow away and salt the roads.

"Because they don't have air conditioners" In america it would be really weird to have school cancelled because of 'hot weather' because all the schools in the US are prepped with AC units. We cancel school in the US if it snows because of transportation issues and unsafe roads. I had to go to school yesterday when it was snowing 3-4 inches. We had several car crashes and a bus go off the road. Maybe Spain needs to get air conditioning?

Well this thread answered its own questions. Schools in different countries cancel for different reasons because they are prepared for the certain type of climate they are in. Sometimes outliner weather comes and you need to cancel, k.

For example, in Alaska they don't cancel because it snows, Or in Minnesota either. It isn't because we cancel it 'because it snows' its because if the snow can do enough harm to the transportation

Yes, I'd totally send my kids to school while it's heavily snowing and below freezing temperatures. I mean, what's the worst that could happen? Right? /LQDwWGs And in recent news, a class of 1st Graders slide off the road and were killed in a bus accident. Law suits towards the school for the death of kids that could have been prevented if school canceled for just that one-day. And in the end, no one wins.
