audacity is great for voice editing and free as far as DAWs go there aren't really any good free ones that you can make professional quality stuff with, i personally use FL. not legally but i plan to buy it eventually

"as far as DAWs go there aren't really any good free ones that you can make professional quality stuff with" nope, use Reaper, all it does is just remind you to buy a license each time you use it but no features are restricted

>trying to be big league when you're using roblox ayy lmao honestly though if you're just starting out what's more important is understanding your tool rather than your tool's effectiveness, go for the thing that works best for you and practice at it

tbh once you can use one DAW effectively it's not that hard to learn another, i just love to be judgmental (don't we all) unless you're trying to learn Reason, it has a lot of stuff that's different from other DAWs according to a sound design major from where I work, pro tools sucks but I would try it before forming my own opinion if you aren't against... "acquiring" software, i'd give a number of different DAWs a try if you're serious

i use sound forge with no quantize and i only use low quality youtube samples and recordings i took in a forest on my nokia. i make this broken 2 step beat and then i drown everything in reverb and put in vinyl crackles and a bunch of white noise.
