Instead of bumping, which isn't even permitted in most forum areas, try contributing something to the topic. If it's a good idea, which I believe this one is, then the discussion should be able to stand on it's own and get bumped by productive replies relating to the topic. If I were a developer and saw a page where half is only "bumping", then I would think the interest in the subject were misleading or false and skip over it. Don't ruin a good idea by spamming it with uneccessary bumps.

I noticed that. Also, this subject is a bit too techy for most of the common forum users to really understand or comprehend. It may have gained more notice if it were in an area more targetted to the scriptors who would need it and want it. Making this work would be extremely easy. I could write out a sql connection function and even outline how it could work to save game stats and variables based on a place's creator name, etc to make it not only extremely easy to use but also easy to implement, if only a ROBLOX dev could be convinced to spend a day to make it happen. Ideal syntax in Roblox scripting could be as simple as: inputDB(table, string, "value") updateDB(table, string, "Value") where stringname="value" ...to which, a server-side interpreter routine would simply rewrite into common SQL query syntax. The databases could simply use a game's creator userID and the actual connection values left on the ROBLOX servers to keep secure. A simple and commonly available SQL server would work well and a game could use a simple flag to determin if a game's tables are dropped (deleted) when the last player leaves a server, or maintained for things like character stats or high scores. This flag method would allow the option of each game's server instance having it's own stats, or creating a virtual world consisting of all servers of a specific game, or even shared between several games made by the same creator.

Your reply did not even mention the topic of this thread at all. If you would not like to be able to save game data, character stats, scores or any of the many other features that database implementation could provide, then simply do not respond to this topic. You are the one who is bumping (posting without any contribution or debate relating to the topic). I posted about how easy it would be to make it work because the topic does interest me. If I did not care about the subject, I'd be smart enough not to reply to it.

I agree bump this thread! Its the only thing we want. If we had this i'd be satisfied. I'm sure a bunch would be too. Why? Because it would have so many uses for between server communication. Go ahead and do it already roblox!

Storing in players isnt good idea i say make it just store in a currently made model by you so they dont have to add anything new and it wont take up more space then they give. Storing in players would allow other games to save over the data
