I officially abandoned Guest Quest Online after 3 months of hardcore to little development. Now, as good as the game was and the fanbase it has, I wanted to give a few reasons of why It's a dead project. Now before you get upset, please keep in mind I'm still constantly trying new ideas and concepts (currently the survival genre) and I may even come back to this concept in the future.
Reasons why I stopped working:
-About half way through, I lost major interest in working on it. The only thing that kept me developing on it at all was the amount of complaints I was getting from it about me 'being lazy'.
-It's not replayable. Once you beat the game, it get's boring very fast due to the lack of content and features for older players. There is no point on spending all my time working on a major update to last you guys another 30 mins.
-It's bland. The game is too simple (on purpose), and grants me less options on what to do with it.
-It's outdated code; I've learned a bit since then and rewriting it would cause data lose.
-Too much work to keep it popular and keep it blooming
-Not enough players due to the limited controls and such
-Not enjoyable with friends
-The amount of exploits that have since ruined most features for everyone else (even though the exploits are patched)
There were more factors to this, but it would be pointless to list all of them. I'm very sorry about giving up on this, I honestly hate leaving the fanbase that dwells on this game for hours. However, the game will not close unless a major bug rolls around so you can still enjoy it :)

Well I would be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed but I can see why you would stop developing it.

You can always make it popular back again! You need EFFORT! You're 13 years old and you can make this game! YOU CAN DO IT. Advertise it! Do anything that make the game popular again, I saw so so many games that get abandoned but their creators always try to get it popular again. You can started by adding skills! Items! POTIONS! ANYTHING THAT CAN MAKE YOUR GAME MORE AWESOME MORE THAN EVER.
And why it's matters? We're still here! We're still playing and loving your game! So please change your mind.

Idea:
Next survival game would follow "Guest" Theme as well, E.G. World has been overrun with Guests due to those who were fighting off guests in "Guest Quest" have abandoned the cause and fled. You are a survivor, with bare essentials, you must go around Roblox itself and hope to find the bare remnants of what once was a great game. As you go, you are haunted by guests, constantly attacking you. Day after day. Survival becomes harder and harder.
One thing- you should probably compensate people who spent 2000 robux on a game that you just left to ruin. |

Bruh build oh man you gotta re think about this SO MANY PEOPLE PLAYED WHEN YOU MADE IT FREE AND YOU UPDATED IT SO IT WENT FROM maybe 25-50 then to 1k+ cause you updated it atleast make the survival game a story line off of guest quest and atleast have some stuff for people who bought the guardian gamepass or crimson or any gamepass or atleast the beta players maybe like a guest obliterator 9000 for people who bought the guardian gamepass xD |

It was a extremely obsessive and addictive game. I loved it, everytime I got a chance to play on my PC, I would spend hours on this game. I'm sad to hear that you have abandoned this game, but I understand the hard work you've put in the game. You did do the right thing, slaving the time of your life on just a game, would be just.. Insane. I hope you make different, but easier, but just more of a fun game. "Chose a job that is your hobby", that's a common quote and saying, but in this case, "Chose a game to create, that is enjoyable". Thank you for still opening the game, and goodbye! |
