Writing a research paper on it and wanted some other POV's to see if I am the only one for it being instated into the US. |

The idea of it is nice, but I don't think we can apply universal healthcare in the same way that other nations do it. Take the Nordic countries. They get taxed out the ass for all the social freedoms they enjoy, which is in no small part the free healthcare. While that's all well and good, they're tiny, compared to the US population. Short of increasing the percentage of US citizens who actually pay their damn taxes by a significant amount, the government simply does not have the funding to pay for free healthcare for Americans.
That being said, that's the main reason why the ACA is designed so that only people who didn't have health insurance to begin with need to sign up for it. It doesn't limit private insurance, and it provides a somewhat-cheaper alternative to the premium private insurance company policies. |

use canada as a template |
|
|
@chicken
unfortunately you can't just go with the same template and scale up 10x, that would simply be way too much expenditure for the federal government to handle |

how would it be paid for, out of Obama's ass? |

@killah
I don't see the difference between paying ridiculously high insurance premiums and paying high taxes for the same healthcare tbh |

I actually finished writing a letter about universal health care.
I'll leave it to a mystery-that-no-one-cares-about on which side I support. |

"one's a option another is not"
health insurance mandate penalty
they make you pay a fee if you don't have insurance
so you're boned from three ways at once |
|
|
Nah it's cool, just my friend was supporting it and she's a bit of a know it all so I was like "Easy paper is easy" but thanks for pointing it out guys helps alot. |

Only if you're arguing against the model used by most European nations. They're already socialist in practice anyways, but we're not. It simply wouldn't work here without a significant societal shift.
In the form of the ACA, no. It's not particularly bad for anybody. If you already have insurance, it shouldn't affect you. If you don't have insurance, congrats, you get it now. |

if u don't have poor people, it would work |
