you're trading away two players who aren't going to resign in toronto for a veteran (key in the rebuilding process), a prospect who has pretty good numbers in the minors, and a 1st round draft pick. if you can't see why that's important, then i don't know what to say to you

you can either lose them for nothing or trade them for something. 1st round picks are valuable, especially in a year with such a great draft class
