The salty sea air slammed against your face, the boat rocking back and forth, making you slightly sea sick. Nothing, however, could spoil your god mood, for you and your small band of guard have at last spotted land, and are preparing to dock at a makeshift wooden platform made for docking ships. Of course, your transport could hardly be considered a ship, more a fishing boat, but what could a poor soul such as yourself do, when tasked with living in poverty or rolling the dice and trying at fortune and riches?
Looking at the line that you could recognize at land, you began to remember everything from your early life up to your present..
Your name is ___, and you were born in the far away land of Ungar, your father working as a ___ and your mother a[n] ___.
Fill in the blanks. |

(wait, are firearms present in this time?) |

[Very basic ones] |
|
|
(so I suppose swords and spears are more common then)
My name is Acciard. My father was a landless warrior/knight. My mother was the daughter of a minor nobleman which he seduced. |

[Yes]
Your father was a warrior, fighting others and teaching you the ways of the sword and shield, while your mother preferred to give you an actual education with her somewhat extravagant wealth.
Then, at age twelve, you took an apprenticeship as... |
|
|
I was squired, trained for battle. |

As your years as a squire progressed, you became more adapt as a fighter, and it seemed that you would take after your father rather than your mother.
Then, as an adult, you took work as... |

You took work as a mercenary, taking jobs wherever pay would be satisfying. Your move to Ungar is known to only you and I, and your reason was... |

Though your work was exciting enough, you decided to move to Ungar for even more work and adventure.
Your race is...
Your fuel for travelling to this new world was a dream of great riches and wealth.
The second to last part of character creation is the race.
Human
Jack of all trades, other than bartering with anyone in the other races, do to hate among other races. Easiest race.
Elf
Efficient in spells and ranged combat, debuff to melee.
Dwarves
Skilled in melee combat, however this is punished by low skills in magic/ranged.
Goblins
Skilled with engineering magic, and the only ones able to construct airships. Also good at bartering, however lack of combat skills. Easily the most difficult race to play as.

NOTE!!!
This is your last chance to go back. Are you sure you are happy with your skills? |
|
|
Yes, though change the reason for coming because I was chasing a thief who stole an important jewel which belonged to my mother from me, and I found out that he ran away there. |

Your destiny is sealed.
Skills are a bit complicated. You start out with five base points, ten skill points, and ten combat points. Base points decide things like intelligence, charisma, strength, agility, etc, while skill points are much more specific, like prisoner management and power throw. How many points you can put into them are decided by your base skills. Yep.
Begin
---
You jump off the ship, incredibly tired. You purchase a slow horse and run off towards the nearest city, and head straight for the tavern. Whether you drink or not is up to you. |
|
|
I approach the bartender.
"Do you locals sell wine here? I need a drink." |

"Aye." He said, and he slammed a cup on the table and began to fill it with wine, and slid it over to you.
"Five gold 'oins." The dwarf said. |
|
|
Give him five coins, and empty the cup.
"Back home nobody would buy such disgusting peasant wine, but let the coins I gave you count as a tip. Now, since I gave you a tip, can you tell me anything about the man they call Ludorf "the Spider"? I'm looking for him." |

"Aye. Came in marchin' with a private army o' his, didn' 'e? Nearly scared the living sheet out o' me when he came in, askin' for a wagon full o' drinks. Overthrown the lord in the nex' city over. I don' know what business ye' want with 'im, but I suggest 'gainst doin' it, unless ye' got a death wish." |
|
|
"So he came in here with his men and overthrew the lord? Can you tell me where is this city, exactly?" |
|

"West o' thi' city. Down the road, shouldn' be too hard to spot." |
