You know how most people want a dark aura? Why not make a specific way of SUBTRACTING light, so your character can have a dark aura? I'll simply explain this: If the total value of the color of any light (White and bright colors has a value of 255, while black has 0) goes below 127, then it will subtract light. I'll give you an example of what it could look like: RGB (64, 0, 0) would give you a dark red aura, subtracting any light that is not that specific color. This would be good for making evil characters, as they will resonate a dark aura. You could also use this for stealth cloaks, as people could prevent being seen in the dark. It's a great thing, yet unusual to explain. Since the absence of light is darkness, and the absence of a specific color is the opposite of that color, why not make lights able to subtract light? Care to give support?

I think you're confused about what an RGB color gamut is. The values from 0 to 255 are industry standards for the amount of red, green, and blue. A negative amount of red results in a positive amount of its opposite colour, namely cyan. Magenta for green, yellow for blue. Not to mention that you'd be breaking an industry standard. What you're referring to is more accurately described as negative brightness. Set the light to a brightness of -1 instead of 1, and the light it casts will be a removal of that range of colour of light from where the light shines. -- While we're at it, can we have lighting controlled by emissivity spectra?

Well, I mean more like RGB (64, 0, 0) would be a subtraction of cyan, green, and blue light.
